Course Curriculum

10

  • As I’m from the architecture field, it is more difficult than other courses. There will be mix of both theoretical and practical.
  • Positives and negatives are a never-ending subject. As you go further, you have to learn according to trend.

Admission Experience

  • I applied to 5 colleges:
    • University of Massachusetts Amherst: accepted
    • Sunny Buffalo: accepted
    • Pratt institute :- rejected cause my application didn’t meet the requirements
    • Savannah college of arts and Design: accepted
    • Rochester institute of Technology: accepted
    • Sunny buffalo I finalised it, and I got I-20 also. But I wish to join university of Massachusetts
  • This college is best for research-orientated students and well equipped with good faculty.
  • Submitting the application and certificates as they mentioned in the portal. And the waiting period is also less. Application portal has every details mentioned and IELTS has to be 6.5 or above. SAT and GMAT is acceptable but I don’t have the minimum score.
  • It’s easy and very simple to understand and to apply the admission
  • Fall 2024 I applied. In my place, fall is the most beautiful season because I can see different colours of leaves. This is the most beautiful season, when people come across the globe. So I choose this season for applying in this university
  • The admission process took 1 month for me. Applying in March will be best for an easy timeline. By May 1st I got my admission finalised and after paying the fee, I got my I-20 in 2 weeks

Class Schedule

10

  • 6 Indians are enrolled.

Faculty

  • It depends on the subject. For my studio we have 2 faculty and students are divided equally. Other lectures it will be one faculty teaching to the class.
  • Yes, they teach us all the practical things which we face outside the world.
  • They will assist us with how to apply for jobs. They don’t refer us because it is against the university rules but they help us to choose the firms which are good.
  • My advisor and one of my faculty is named Ann marshal. She is the most knowledgeable and very helpful person I have ever seen.

Campus Life

10

  • The university has six campuses: Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell, Worcester and Dartmouth.
  • We have all facilities like a library, sports and medical services also.
  • There are many events that will be played every week. Like music events, party nights, festivals, etc.
  • There are organisations which keep these events happening. Most of the students will join in this organisation and help the university to arrange these events successfully.

Part Time Jobs

  • It depends on the major. Because some majors don’t have much TA, RA positions.
  • Pay range will be higher and they will get a tuition fee waiver also.
  • 10 hrs per week for TA and RA. Part-time, you can work for 20 hrs per week during semester time. Holidays you are allowed to work 40hr per week.
  • It will be a bit hard to get campus jobs. But if you apply first, you might get a job easily. If you apply in person, you will get a job easily.
  • Per hour, $15 to $18 will be paid in part-time jobs. It depends on the roles and jobs you choose. If you apply first before starting your semester, you will get placed. You have to ready your CV and apply for jobs in the portal. There you will have a lot of options. Some jobs might require in-person interviews. Some might need in-person applications also. According to your comfort, you can apply whichever you like.

Placement

10

  • 80% of my course graduates secured placements in good firms.
  • Average salary is $6000-$8000 per month.
  • There are different platforms for applying for jobs. Updating a CV and portfolio will help to find jobs easily. Platforms like LinkedIn, handshake, etc. will help to find jobs. My friends got good positions in great companies. They are placed with a high salary also.
  • We have to choose the companies we like and the work we want to do. So it depends on us; not firms will choose us. If the CV and portfolio match their needs, they will choose you.

  • My college has its own platform for accommodation. In that they will mention all the communities and estates which are around the college. And these are verified and safe places.
  • Monthly it will be $2100-2500. Depends on the room you choose.
