I get swami vivekananda merit cum scholarship which is very helpful for me.
Placements the placement for computer science and technology department is really appreciable and since it is a college of national importance, some really highy package giving companies come for placements and take a good handful number of student.
Campus is very green and lovely. you would surely love the experience.

Dislikes

The hostel facility is horrible in our college we don't have many single seater rooms there were very limited which intern causes disputes among students and the food facility was also not good it's really very hard
Actually hostel facilities is not good in indian institute of enginnering science and technology the maintainnace is poor and my college is in west bengal, shibpur and for me i dont like bengal food as i am from andhra pradesh.
The hostels are a bit bad in condition. one has to face some problems regarding stay.

college campus is very clean and green .college infrastructure is very well designed.
Professors are very knowledgable and highly experienced.
Ther are different social clubs available for various social activities

Dislikes

area around college is very unhygeniec and not so well located.
same old way of teaching not including Artificial intelligence for interested candidates.
Hostel is not up to level not even tasty to eat.

Placement Experience:

After 7th sem students are eligible for college placements. Companies like meta, amazon ,unstop,google and MS visited my college. Highest package of my college is around 56 lpa and lowest is around 8 lpa.

Allumni network is very good and collage has rich culture heritage
Faculty and collage adademic are also very nice.all clubs like music ,dance ,robotics ,ches, coding, robotics,etc are very active
Placement of collage is very nice for department.people are getting placement in top companies like Google, Microsoft,etc every year

Dislikes

Campus size is 123 acres and infrastructure is needed to be more developed.
Sports facilities can be more better , there is only one court for volleyball and basketball.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from 7th semester for placement.about 524 offers given by 144 companies in 2024 .these companies also include top MNCs like Google , Microsoft,etc. Highest on campus placement is of 56 lkh to 7 students by Microsoft.

The best BTech choice after IIT in West Bengal

Lush green beautiful campus stretched over 114 acres. You will definitely love this college in the middle of trees, lakes, and British architecture.
Teachers are very supportive. They hardly take any leaves. All classes take place timely and exams are organized.
Campus life is amazing. Lots of clubs and societies, lots of fests and senior interaction.

Dislikes

Our college is about 168 years old so infrastructure is not that modern like private colleges like Amity. However, improvements are constantly being done.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students start interviewing for campus placemnts. Around 200 companies visit our college that includes FAANGs like Google, Microsoft and Amazon. Many other Good companies like Wells Fargo, Texas Instruments, Deustche Bank, Goldman Sachs and many more recruit from our college. Highest package was 54 LPA and average was 17LPA. Aroud 93% CSE students got placed. I also wish to get placed. If not I will give GATE for PSUs.

Excellence in Engineering: My IIEST Shibpur Experience

Good hostel facility with 24X7 water and electric supply. Good mess food (unlimited food) three time. Good security guard system in hostel.
Helpful seniors in very field. They teaches us to became a good confident person.
Campus is huge. Full greeny and healthy campus with British acent building structure.

Dislikes

During rain season, heavy rain cause water blocked in roads and unavailable and difficult for transport.
Infrastructure are old and campus is too bushy in rainy season. Snakes are often found in campus.

Placement Experience:

From 6 sem students are eligible for campus placements. Names of companies visited: Microsoft Google Amazon Twitter Zomato Coal India ltd Ongc Bhel Tata steel plant Aditya birla ltd Highest package-40 lpa Average 20 lpa 76% of students gets placed in on campus and rest off campus placements. My plan to clear gate after btech.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every other government college, the first year covers courses from many branches, as a first year it is very easy and good, the exams are also easy, can score above 8 cgpa if you study atleast 2 week prior to exams.

College provide best remote location to access to college
Average placement of college is very good as compared to other NIT
College is very old but it's infrastructure is very good .

Dislikes

Hostel are not upto mark as college is very old .
Sometimes professor like to talk in bengali.
Mess always prefer to give more non veg to all people.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd year our college students is eligible for placement and even they got very good internship option . almost 80 percent of student are placed in my college. My plan is for higher studies after getting degree.

The crowd is the biggest factor for which i joined college ,there need an improvement in infrastructure .
The faculties are highly experienced and quite friendly and helpful.
The placement is quite good . core companies visit in our campus and we have placement above 75%

Dislikes

The girls to boys ration is quite poor like out off 100 students there are only 16 girls and rest boys.
Infrastructure ia below average ,old boys hostel ,small auditorium ,and no gymkhana for indoor games and gym is also look old .

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible from 3rd year itself for on campus placements . Some of the prominent companies are atlassian, microsoft , amazon ,oracle ,texas instrumnets ,cisco etc.Around 500 to 600 offers are made every year. The highets package is given by atlassian around 86lakh for sde role. Around 75% studnets are placed every year. I will go for placement ,no chance for further studies.

The infrastructure is quite good. There are two buildings the one you will get from entering the first get is the administrative building and the second one is the science and technology building.
Some professors are really good but some are not I mean and they there way of explaining things are not that much effective but what I really feel is scholars teach better than professors in our college
Green environment of the college and the proximity to Hooghly river gives nice view from 8th floor

Dislikes

Location of the college as it is in outskirts of the city of Kolkata so you have to travel a lot to explore places
The first year hostel rooms are not really clean I request them to clean
Canteen food is not really good as of general food we eat regular basis

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is quite well versed,it is not really that hard but needs basic understanding of class 11 and 12 courses for 1st year, it will be easy for those who have study there courses well. There are many labs and workshop as well as relation to industry that enhances practical application of what we study, that is the most important thing in engineering I think so For 1st year the end sem exams are of 3 hours and the mid sem exams are of 2 hours, the end exam are of 50 marks and mid sem are of 30 marks and the 20 Marks is teachers assessment.

All the faculty members are too good and I like it
The campus is so greenary and beautiful.
Here, the placement is very nice like microsoft, Texas instruments very well known company visit in the campus placement

Dislikes

The infrastructure is too old and classroom are too old.
All the rules are strictly which I personally don't like
The mess food are too decent according to me

Course Curriculum Overview:

I personally like robotics research areas . For this reason I choose electronics and telecommunications Engineering. The frequency of the timings of the exam is too good to clear this type of exam. This is best college for this type of this

Likes

Our college is too good and the environment is very healthy.
Our college is full of trees and we have three lakes in our college.
We have many clubes that we can participate in it and that improves our skills.

Dislikes

We don't have big Institute hall the capacity is less.
We have less academic blocks in which we are attending classes.
Our hostels are not that much good to live there.

Placement Experience:

Our college has good placements and our college provides good internships.our college provides internships from good companies like Microsoft, Accenture,Google, Amazon...our branch IT have good placements records.

One of my friends is a final-year student at IIEST Shibpur. According to him, the placement last year has been great. Microsoft IDC (PPO), Mentor Graphics, CESC Ltd (PPO), Tata Steel (PPO), Bentley Systems completed their recruitment process on campus and hired more candidates than they did last year. Companies like Atlassian, Samsung R&D, and PwC are also expected to recruit on campus. A brief discussion about placements and other aspects of the institute are as follows.

Placements:

Pre-final year students got internship offers from various firms like Microsoft R&D, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, and Texas Instruments this year. Other firms which will be having on-campus recruitment will most likely be hiring interns also. Hence, needless to mention that the placement scenario has continued its trend of improvement this year as well.
Students have been hired in companies like Microsoft IDC, Cognizant, Samsung R&D, Infosys, TCS Research and Innovation, Z. S. Associates, etc. from campus placements. Off-campus placements also include Google (Bangalore).
The median salary that has been offered is around 7 LPA and every one of the scholars participating in placements got placed. The placement cell improved and has become more proactive and efficient in training and placement of scholars.

Infrastructure:

All departments, libraries and hostels are Wi-Fi enabled with decent speeds. The Science and Technology Department features a 1Gigabit backbone network.
The rooms and labs are well maintained and have all the specified equipment. The central library is not extremely big but features a good assortment of useful titles. There are smaller departmental libraries also.
The hostels are decent and clean but might be improved. They need indoor game facilities also. A replacement hostel for women has just been built and features a far better review.
There are multiple canteens on Campus serving good quality food at reasonable rates and a CCD stall with significantly cheaper rates than usual.
Other amenities include Gymnasium, Sports fields, Court and Infirmary.

Faculty:

The college consists of highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers. They clear the doubts if consulted. Most teachers teach using both chalkboard and multimedia aids.
There are multiple teachers and other lab assistants to guide the students during the lab classes.
The course curriculum is aligned with most other national institutions and contains the essential topics necessary for the course.

The campus is lush green and located on the bank of the river Ganges. Right beside the institute is Botanical Gardens. Many events take place at the institute all year around. There are annual Techno-Management fest Instruo, Annual Cultural fests Rebecca and Anuranan, and departmental fests. Besides that, there are also sports events. Meritorious students can avail scholarships sponsored by the Alumni Association.
