Hostel Facilities:

The room is provided with two ceiling fans and 4 bed and 4 almirah (for boys) and 5 beds and 5 almirah(for 1st yr girls). Meal is not that good. The hostel are very affordable. Cost of living in pg is much more compared to living in hostel. It is fine if you rent a room or a pg but you will miss all the fun that goes on inside the college.

Good hostel facility with 24X7 water and electric supply. Good mess food (unlimited food) three time. Good security guard system in hostel.
Four canteens with all type of food in cheap price and clean and healthy too. Nice place for chilling with friends.

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel is moderate. Four people in one room. Individual get one bed, one table and one cupboard. Room is of 400m×300m with 2 fans and 2 windows and one door. Hostels are of 3 floors. Each floor contains one bathroom with 2 toilets base, 4toilet, four washrooms and one washing machine. Mess details: Morning breakfast is starts from 8 am to 10 am. (Review : moderate) Lunch at 12:30 pm (Review: Good) Dinner at 8:30 pm( Review:Nice) Quality of food and material: Moderate Registration process for hostel : Pay your hostel charge four thousand at uco bank scanner paste outside of bank then fill the four copy receipt form. Two copies will be taken by bank and one by hostel management and one with kept along with you. Then hostel management (Ist lobby main building Ist floor) with allot hostel for you then you have take that receipt to alloted hostel there you have paste your photo along with all your details in it. You may stay there as soon as you are alloted or you can join later. Rent rooms or pg are highly available near to college.

Hostel fees per semster is 25500 In the room there is 2 fans where 4 students live.2 circuit boards and 4 tables and 4 beds . Meal quality is okay 3 days veg and 3 days non veg 1 day special . Mess is studnets funded so we decided what we want to eat the next way . One day before we make the menu for the next day under the given budget and if we go beyond budget we have to pay extra. Registration process is very easy ,just go to the main building and ask the uncle sitted on the main entry for hsotel regis. He will let you the room number and floor where it is being done . Just hive them the documents they asked and you are done now go to Uco bank and pay 4000 collect revipet and go to the hostel ,submit this reciept and get your room keys. My friends have taken PG as this is near residential area also not well develped so you can get nearby PG at low price.

Hostel facility are good like there is good cleaning, well maintance and 24/7 water, electricity and wifi available. Mess menu is going to be decude by a student leader which we will be electing but the meals are not good in taste and un hygienic too. There si small canteen in our hostel which opens form 4 to 7 in the evening and there is room for TV and table tennis and carrom .

IIEST Shibpur is equipped with well-maintained accommodation facilities for the students to provide them the comfort of home.

Currently, the campus has 15 hostels or halls of residence. With the increase in the number of admissions every year, the management has decided to construct new hostels to accommodate the students.
For boys, separate halls of residence are allotted as per their years. 1st-year boys are allocated to hostel 8, 9, 10. Second-year boys are accommodated to hostel 7, 11, or 15. Then, from the third year onwards, students reside in a big hall of residence.
On the other hand, girls are allocated 2 hostels. First-year girls reside in Nivedita Hall while from 2nd year onwards, they live in Pandya Hall.
In the initial first year, 4 seater rooms are allotted to students. The rooms are spacious enough for 4 students. While from third year onwards students have an option to choose from a single-seater room to multiple seaters.
The college has taken full care to provide a neat, clean and hygienic environment to the students. Every hall of residence has its own mess, common room, carrom, table tennis room, badminton court, etc.
The wifi facility is available 24*7 with high-speed internet.
Many other facilities like newspapers, washing machines, etc. are also there. Apart from that, the management keeps on updating the facilities to make the students feel better.
Lunch and dinner are provided in each mess of every hostel. Initially, they have started to provide breakfast but you have to buy evening snacks. You will also get a feast once a week during fests.

If you are relocating, you need to get nothing to move in the hostel. If you want some extra comfort then only you need to buy which is also available in the nearby market.

For M.tech students the hostels are provided as per the distance of their homes. Male candidates would get a downing hall of residence, Hostel 15 and then PG. Hostel 15 is quite spacious and you will be getting beautiful scenarios outside the hostel. The downing hall is a bit congested as more number of students are accommodated in one hall. PG hostel is similar to hostel 15 only it is bit congested but it is better than downing hall. You will get PG hostel in the second year you will get Downing hall and hostel 15 in your first year. For female candidates the accommodation is given at Sister Nivedita hall.

You will get a bed, locker, and table individually in each room. There are a total of 11 rooms on each floor. Each floor has got 2 hi speed wifi routers. Some hostels also have paid canteens. There is an RO water cooler in the mess. Overall the hostels are pretty good considering it is a government college. You will also be sharing rooms with B.tech students.

Apart from the fun and frolic that takes place, there are certain rules and regulations that everyone has to follow.
There is a time for every student that they cannot go outside campus after 10 pm and girls have to report to their hostel by 11 pm.
But there are no such restrictions for boys to roam inside the campus or hall.
Any sort of ragging and violence is strictly banned in the college.

There are arrangements for several indoor games, including carom and table tennis. The Sen hall also has a garden, where students can play short-pitch cricket or badminton.
In the Sen hall, there is a good senior-junior relationship, where 3rd and 4th years stay. No report of ragging is evident from the Sen hall.
The mess food is quite good, with the presence of supportive and caring mess staff. Students get to eat Biryani twice or thrice a month.

On papers, there is. Each floor has a Wi-Fi router or sometimes 2 Wi-Fi routers installed for the students and also there is 1 JAXB Wi-Fi installed at a common point amidst all the hostels for common access.

But in reality, you would consider yourself lucky if you are in rooms like 01, 03 or 10, 11. These are the extreme most rooms on each floor and get good Wi-Fi connections with decent speed. If you get a room near to the router you might get a speed around 5mbps or sometimes even 10mbps with an average speed of 2mbps. But if you are not, then you have to depend on luck. Only when others are not using, you might get some decent speed around 1mbps.

Moreover, the college Wi-Fi blocks many sites. For example, you can’t open YouTube, till the afternoon. The library and departmental Wi-Fi are far better than the hostel ones. Sometimes, the CS and Chemistry dept. WiFi download speed reaches 100mbps.

No, first-year B.Tech students do not get a single occupancy hostel room. In fact, no government-funded Institute of National Importance will provide you a single occupancy room or AC room at least in the first year.

Yes, IIEST offers accommodation facilities to its students. It has 18 hostels including 3 girls’ hostels. However, students are provided hostel facilities as per the availability of the room. There is a hostel warden in each hostel and students must abide by the rules and responsibilities of the hostel. The caution money needs to be paid one time during the admission.
