Course Curriculum Overview
the department of civil engineering in iiest shibpur is the oldest and the 1st department in the college and the college itself known as civil engineering college in the past,and this college is the 2nd oldest engineering college in india .and the allumini of civil engineering in this college is much higher ,there are many benifits in the department of civil engineering in iiest shibpur.
Fees and Financial Aid
as of my knowledge for the accadamic year 2024-25,fee sturcture of an obc student whose anual income is above 5 lakh is hostel fee 29,500\-,college fee 71,000\-per semister Refundable ammountis 4000 \-total ammount should pay throughout the year is 2,01,000\-.
Campus Life
INSTRO is the techno fest in iiest shibpur it is the largest techno fest in kolkata,and REBCA is the annual fest which is of 3 days and at that time college is dreesed with lights and flowers .clubs are good in this college there are nearly 10 clubs in this college.DEPARTMENTAL fests will also take place.
Hostel Facilities
For 1st year students, we have 3 hostels ,every room is shared with 4 members and indoor and out door games are provided at the hostels and food is not so good.and menu is in the hands of students they can change the menu if they want.and mantainance of hostels are not good.
Admission
see,i applied for jee mains counsling this is the only nit which has low cutoffs and good nirf ranking and this college were not known by every one so that the students who got some less ranks will get admission into this college ,and the allumini network is more in this college.
Faculty
as iam a first year ug student i joined the college on 10th august ,reveiw circullum is hestic.we have our classes ad 1 and half month then we have our mid sem examination,and after we got holidays of 10 days and then after we have 25 days of classes and after that we have our end sem exams so that exams which were conducted by them were very nearer to the mid and comming to the results the marks were given by the lectures are very reasonable and though it is atonomus colllege the paper correction is tough.and here the no. of classes are lesser and the exams are very frequent.
Night Life
GYM will be there in the college days and closed on public holidays.library will be opened till 12 o clock in the night.there are 4 cafines in the campus.for 1 and 2 year students there will be hostels of 3 each and for 3 and 4 year students there will be hall .foe 1st year studentsn in a room there will be 4 members and games will be provided at the hostels both indoor and outdoor.
