good academic . brilliant faculty support . labs are excellent
the interaction between faculty and students is considerably good .
no compulsory attendance policy which gives extra time for learning side skills like web development.

Dislikes

boys to girls ratio is very low that is 3:1
placements are decent but not extraordinary
fees are not very low considering placement opportunity

Course Curriculum Overview

the cirricullum is quite relevent and comprehensive . BTECH program especially CSE includes specializations like data sciene , cybersecurity, IOT, etc . Exams are held twice in a semester . the college could include hand on learning through workshop , industry project and interships .

Fees and Financial Aid

i am pursuing BTech in Computer sceince and engineering in Techno Main Salt Lake. The yearly fees for my course is around 150000 RS includes tuittion, development , registration and examination fees. In the first year i paid aprroxiately 160000 RS . from second year onwards , i have to pay 150000 RS . The approximate total cost for 4 year is around 6 lakh and hostel and mess charges are additional . goverment scholarships are available like PM post matric , EKALYAN , etc

Campus Life

campus life at my college is decenr . we have annual fest named TECHNO FIESTA . it is cultural fest held in march and one more EDGE held in november . we have diferent clubs like CODING CLUB , TECHNO LITERARY SCOIETY , CULTURAL CLUB and indoor games

Admission

i chose this college because of my low rank in wbjee exam . i had also applied for IEM KOLKATA but did not get it due to my low rank . my college placements are good but not as excellent as IEM kolkata which i did not get. I got my college through wbjee counselling .

Faculty

the faculty support at my college is good and supportive . the faculty to student ratio is around 1: 20 which helps faculty to give every students individual attention . few faculties are not so good and are managable . Techno Main Salt Lake follows cirricullum of MAKAUT so the course structure is decent .

Night Life

the night life around my college is quite calm and enjoyable . my college is located at Sector v salt lake , one of the safest area of kolkata . inside campus , there is canteen area , garden benches and central courtyard to chat and unwind

Placement Experience:

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. I have also given CUET for pursuing M. Tech

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
