A Deep Dive into JGEC

I was influenced by the the government job opportunities which I can get in my domain. I think I'll be well prepared for my targetted govt jobs by the end of my course curriculum. It prepares us well for real world applications for further academic pursuits. The labs must be improved, the materials instruments must be improved . There are two semesters in a year and each semesters contains two internal exams , the difficulty level is moderate. And they ask whatever they have taught us in our classes . If we give attention to the class we can easily make us prepared for the semesters , the gate(with some own hardwork) , and for different government exams also .

From 4th year the students become eligible for on campus placements. Few companies that visited are BEL which offered 12lpa , wtw which also offered 12lpa , TCS which offered 9 lpa highest, and many more . Highest package offered this year was 54lpa by Microsoft (off campus) . On campus highest was BEL which offered 12 lpa , the average package is around 8 lpa . My plan is to prepare myself for government exams and get a job by the end of my 4th year .

The year wise course fees for my branch is around 8000 and as a hosteller I have to pay 32000 per year . In civil, electrical and mechanical that is the the core branches have around 36000 total course fees , and the IT, CSE and ECE has more than 1 lakh as their course fee. The students are eligible for swami vivekananda merit cum scholarship as per the if they fullfill the income criteria Unfortunately I didn't get the government scholarship this year because of some issue but other students gets the government scholarship of 60000 . Which is sufficient to pay hostel and tution fee for a scholar.

There is technical fest names SRISTI which held in November , and annual fest called JECLAT which held in month of March . there's annual sports day also which held in February. There is projecter in each classroom. There is basketball court badminton court 3 big playgrounds . There are cultural like music club , dance club , drama club , writers block and many technical clubs like coders club, cyber security club etc.

The room is provided with a bed a chair a table for study and almirah to keep our daily unable things. The food in our hostel is nice and hygienic, the quality is also good , the thing I like the most is we can modify the menu as per our taste and likes , if most students like it the mess staffs have to make it for us . During the college admission the hostel office publish notice and a form has to be filled, then based on the distance from our home and the rank we are provided the hostels. We have to pay 32 thousands yearly for the hostel and mess . The pgs are also not so far from our college but a little costly than the hostels.

I did applied for the Jadavpur University but I didn't get an opportunity there . But it was my and my father's wish that I study near my home and as JGEC is not so far from my home I confirmed the seat here. Our college takes admission through WBJEE exam which held every year in april end or March and then we have counseling process then we have verification process in our college and there after within 1 month we have our classes .

Faculties are so humble, they help us with every problem. The ratio of student to teacher is 7:1 approx . I like almost every faculty because they are so cooperative. There are two semesters in a year , and two internals in each semesters for 15 marks each . The students pass almost every subject but there are some subjects which are little though like in second year we have fluid mechanics and engineering mechanics, similarly there are other subjects in higher classes which feels hard for most of the students.

There is gym for boys but not for girls . There is two public libraries for students, canteens are also there . There are four hostels for boys for each year and one hostel for girls as the ratio is low . The college canteen named bhai da and Jyoti da canteen is famous for hangout and gossips and outside the campus there are few places like Rajbari park , Teesta Spar, Teesta uddan which are good for scenario and are nice peaceful place . And little far from our college there is mountains nearly 1 hour away from the city .
