Likes

Love my green campus and the pleasant weather.
Placement is decent enough with good opportunities.
Clubs are good too, with a lot of things to explore.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the college is not good enough.
The course fees is twice as that of CSE and other non core branches.
The curriculum could have been updated for greater relevancy.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is not updated completely. But its not so much outdated compared to the rest of engineering branches. The syllabus is quite similar compared to CSE branch in my college. Hence its a good choice after CSE

Internships Opportunities

Many people have got internships from Amazon and Google with a high stipend. Also , some people have got internship offers from ISRO too. The core branches too get a number of internship opportunities .

Placement Experience

The college boasts good placement stats.. with the highest package being of 83 lakh from atlassian (atleast this is what i have heard). Core placements are really really good. However this year...non core placements have taken a backstand with very little placements. Hoping for this situation to improve next year

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees is the highest for IT which is 25k nearly for 1 year. Students from this college can avail the SVMCM scholarship which is 60k per year if their family income is less than or equal to 2.5 lakh. This year one didi from CSE department got a ppo from Google. So the internship opportunities are good enough if you have the skills

Campus Life

Our college has a huge campus. Since it is situated in the north Bengal region, the environment is very pleasant. I love the scenery and the weather. The clubs are nice here. It gives you a good environment for social interaction. Some of the clubs are EDC for entrepreneurship, GDSC , Calliphony etc

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is good enough to stay given the amount of fees we are paying. The rooms are big enough. This year only 1st 2nd and 4th year hostels (except 3rd year) were completely renovated. So staying here is good enough. The food is not that good .. but you can't expect home like food. Its satisfactory. You get nonveg thrice a week atleast.

Admission

I took admission through WBJEE entrance exam. I got a rank of 3319 and got ECE branch in the second round. Later in decentralisation counseling, I got IT branch. I didn't like the eligibility of mop counseling this year which affected many individuals as they didn't want to take the risk of losing their seat if they didn't got any seat in the mop up round

My academics and campus life at amity university kolkata

Placement Experience:

Yes, there is a placement cell at the university campus. It conducts placement related activities and programs for the students. Students are eligible for the campus placement from the 5th semester. Some companies visit the campus to hire the students. Some of the companies are E&Y, SAP, Deloitte, TCS and they have made total approximately 40 offers out of 100 students. The highest and average package of our university is 28Lakhs and 5-6Lakhs for the role of SDE. The percentage of students getting placements if about 40-45%. The seniors told me that the companies offer good packages to the students. I am in my second year so I do not have much information about it. After completing degree from this university, I'm thinking to appear for GATE examination as I want to do my Master's from IIT's.

The Review of NIT-DGP according to first year.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester student got placement and there is no limitation for placement. There are so many companies visited the campus, such as (amazon, microsoft, JP morgon, TCS , infosys, Oracle , and many more..) , they offer more than 700 to 800 students. The average package of CSE branch is approx 22 LPA and highest package is 82 LPA. There are 80 to 90 percent student who got placed. My plan after getting the job is to work hard and explore the world.

Placement Experience:

Yes our college offers campus placements.Students from 4th year are eligible for campus placements.Many reputed nation and international companies like microsoft,Wipro,TCS, Infosys and many more companies offrers placement every year in this college. arrording to 2025 deta overall placement rate was 82 percent, Highest packege was 80 lpa and average packege was 12.6lpa. My only plan to get a good placements.

Placement process in IIT KGP is well designed and functioned every year placements are done.Generally from seventh semester placement process is started for student and every student is eligible in campus placements as per requirements of company and according to their demand students are selected for final process of interview. According to my West Bengal joint entrance examination rank I said for the counselling in the first round I got Kalyani Government Engineering College with IT department but that was with the reservation under EWS quota with rank 2869. As I was not able to get me EWS certificate my admission there was cancelled and then according to my preference I got Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College with electronic and communication engineering department.
