Iiest shibpur

The curriculum of our college is quite oriented towards research this is reason why i rejected top private college cse . In the second and third year we have to visit coal india office and get some real world view. I think our mining department is more oriented towards coal . but we should add mining of some metals like lithium ,and some expensive metals . this departement is the most chill branch of our college . so the exams are quite easy and in some semester we have only two exams .

Amazon intership for techincal roles stipned is around 1 lakh . goldman sachs for analyst post aroynd 80 k stipend. The intership are givwn on the basis of interview and techicak skils of the students.

The students are eligible from 3rd year itself for on campus placements . Some of the prominent companies are atlassian, microsoft , amazon ,oracle ,texas instrumnets ,cisco etc.Around 500 to 600 offers are made every year. The highets package is given by atlassian around 86lakh for sde role. Around 75% studnets are placed every year. I will go for placement ,no chance for further studies.

The semester wise fee is 68000(no waiver for income greater than 5 lakh) which includes tuition fees,exam fees,infrastructure maintenance fees,student activity fees,semester registration . 26,350 (for 2/3rd waiver whose income is between 1 lakh to 5 lakh) and 5500 for full waiver(for sc ,st and the student whose family income is less than 1 lakh ) . Tuition fees=62,500 ,exam fees =1,000 , infrastructure maintenace fees=2500, student activity fees=1500,semester registration fees=500 , caution fee(one time ,refundable)=3000 The fees of the student tuition is decided as per their family income ,and for sc st there is full waiver .For financial aid the student have to apply for gabessu(the alumni pay some amount to help the poor students) for scholarship via college . there is no scholarshio for merit cum need .

The fest are typically held in jan to march and instruo,rebeca are biggest fest our college . almost every festival is celebrated in our college. All the books for enginneeing are available in library. Classroom are decent ,projectors are also used to some extent.We have facility for all the sports in our campus. Clubs for dance ,code iiest ,debsoc ,singing and many sports club are present.

We have been provided a bed ,table and a trunk . rest we have to buy by ourself . 2fans and 2 tubelight are present in every room. Meal is quite okay . we have special dinner 2-3 times in a month in which we get biryani ,chole bhature ,chole kulche like things. Registration process is quite good we have to do it through portal .

I had given mht cet exam and got 97.79% and at this percentile i got dj sanghvi extc via tfws . Still i choose iiest shibpur beacuse i want to go for government college , and enjoy hostel life ,go to other state for atudy . and the dj sanghvi is also 2 km from my house and it is in the mumbai ,travelling was another reason why i didn't choose this college . beacuse we can't afford hostel in mumbai which usually cost upto 2lakh per year. I just applied to 2 college one is via mht cet and other is via jossa so i selected the second option . For iiest shibpur i hav given jee mains exam and qualified it , and you have to score more than 75%(maths, physics,chemistry,english and any other subject with highest marks) in 12th boards or be in top 20 percentile . the cutoff of iiest shibpur depend on category ,home or other state . the admission process was quite lengthy .

15:1 is the student to faculty ratio .And professor are quite friendly to approach . Niloy khutia is the best professor of aerospace enginnering ,in the first year he taught us mechanics(am1101) ,he is one of the most passionate teacher on his subject . In one semester we are two exams . one is mid sem (for 30 marks )but only for theory subject and other is end sem (50 marks ) and 20 marks for internal . 2-3 studnets fail every year and course is relevant as per currnet trend . aiml course is taught in almost all branch to get us ready for new challanges

No we dont have any things like that in our college , the admission is based on the jee marks not on the interview . for pg students may be there will be things like that but i am not sure about that things.

Gym are usually open on morning 6 to 9 and night from 7 to 9 .libary are opened from 10 am to 12 am (night) . In the first year ,we can't go out of hostel after 9 so no nighouts. Eden garden ,howrah bridge,esplade market are quite near to us.
