Course Curriculum Overview

There are the huge market of computer science in the tech industry. The courses are very relevant to our industry. The difficulty level of the examination is not very tough. The level of the exam is moderate.

Class Size: 20Course Fees: INR 158000 per year

Placement Experience

In M.Tech. the students are eligible for placements after second sem. The highest package is 56lpa giving by Microsoft. The average placement pakage for CSE is around 10lpa. 90 percent students getting placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

In one year 79,000 we have to pay and per semester we have to 39,500. During the admission they take caution money 3000 rupees it is one time and refundable. Our batchmates who belong to the SC/ST catagory pay 7500 per semester.

Campus Life

In every month they organise an event because of fastivals, functions or other activities. Approximately all books type of books available in our Library. You have to just search in the computer that is present in the library and to get the location.

Admission

The faculties are good, the placements are good and it's not too far from my home as compared to the other NITs. The admission process is very easy. You have to clear Gate examination then include this college during counseling if your Gate score is good then you get the admission.

Faculty

The faculties are very knowledgeable and very friendly behaviour with students. Our HOD sir (Apurba Sarkar) is a true gentalman. He is awesome and very friendly. He taught us all concepts very easily.

Night Life

The gym is good but it is non AC. Max indoor and outdoor games are available. They give the best facilities. There are lots of hangout places like clock tower, gardens etc. Locality is looking good and very safe for nightouts.

A brief Introduction of IIEST SHIBPUR

Placement Experience:

for b.tech its 6 semester. for m.tech its 3rd semester that students are eligible for placement. lots of company have visited this college like tcs,wipro,Tata steel, Google,etc. HIghest package is 40LPA average is 7LPA. Almost 90% of student get placed here. Get a good job after completing this course.

Entrance Preview:

I had to clear two exams to get admission here. First was the entrance exam conducted by the university itself, called WBUT PGET (Postgraduate Entrance Test) and the second was GATE. I performed well in both of them and received a call letter from the university. During the counselling, I showed my class 10th & 12th scorecard, graduation degree, WBUT PGET scorecard, and GATE scorecard. Once my documents were verified, I had to pay the fee.

Remarks:

Before joining Mtech in Computer Science and Data Processing (Mathematics department) in IIT Kharagpur I completed M.Sc in Mathematics from IIT Madras. At that time wanted to go for industry jobs so I decided to pursue M.Tech course related to computer science. Specifically, I am interested in Machine learning and statistical data analysis. That time I had two options either IIT Madras (Mtech in Industrial mathematics and scientific computing) or IIT Kharagpur (Mtech in CSDP). I preferred IIT Kgp and joined it.

The best BTech choice after IIT in West Bengal

This is a NIT and very close to my residence. I did not do very well in JEE Advanced so NIT CSE seemed to be the next best option. So i chose this college. I could have gotten admission in other NITs as well. BUt i chose this because of its rich heritage, excellent placement records and scope in research. Admission to this college is through JEE Mains. Excellence in Engineering: My IIEST Shibpur Experience

I applied for many NITs for different courses but I choiced this as it near to my home town and also where mines are available near to it. No rejection from other colleges. Admission process is very simple. As soon as you get your seat allotment letter, you have to wait for Institute physical reporting which is noticed in their official website.
