College administration especially the mess section is very poor. There is a lot of corruption and you can expect a lot of bad things and experiences form the administration regarding your fees and fines.

Very packed course curriculum. Being one of the oldest it has a large library with lots of books which helped me a lot. The teachers are one of the best so gaining knowledge is super easy here. Most of the time we understand the logics in classes so well that a study after that in a hostel became optional. Being one of the oldest and best many industrial companies visit the institution for seminar and job purposes. Research work is good. Though the laboratories still have very old instruments.

Placement on the contrary is average. Lots of companies visit the place. But companies with higher packages very rarely visit. Though nowadays placement is on the rise. Q brief statistics of placement is given on the institute site.

REBECA the cultural fest, INSTRUO the technical fest, metallum fest for metallurgy department, Udvaboni the civil engineering department fest. then there are lots of seminars on the campus and many innovative one or two day courses occur here. Also, every hostel has its own fests. and many.

In our time it was very low. In our time course fee was only 12500 including the hostel residing fee. That means you have to pay only 1 lakh in 4 years of your stay at the college. Fooding in the hostel depends on the food items. Though the hostels used to have a very rich culture in food, i.e. food cost was higher but you can also expect variations of food. Though this fee structure is of before when the college was still a state run University. after becoming the first central funded IIEST course fee is a lot higher now.

The fee was very low. So I haven't opted for any loan or scholarships. Though there were a few of my friends who used to have a scholarship and there were some who took the loan.

The campus has a very good culture. There are two main grounds lords and oval along with several others. There were regular tournaments in various sports. The college now also has a basketball court. The college has there owned photographic club and various other clubs. The college has a special department dedicated to music with a building specially arranged with many musical instruments. The gender ratio is not that good. Female students are low here. Though the ratio is getting better day by day. The college used to have political parties but now the college has no political parties and politics on the campus is prohibited.

Yes. Though boys hostels are old if you choose the hostel which you must you will have the 4 best years of your life. Every hostel has its own playing facilities, newspaper, tv rooms and many other. Bathrooms are not that well-cleaned. But there are sweepers who are there for cleaning purposes. Hostel residing fees are included in the semester fee as I told before which is used to be very low i.e. 1900 for 6 months stay.

A very rich alumni network exists. As being the second oldest engineering college you have a very diverse network of alumni and they are helpful. There is also an alumni body in the college that helps needy students.

Admitted after giving and securing a good rank in the joint entrance examination. Then choosing the couse was easy in this college as this is one of the best colleges in India. I was admitted to the civil engineering department which is the oldest in the country in this college.

The faculty team is one of the best. They have superior knowledge. Some professors can teach the topic so good in class that afterwards reading became optional. They make a PowerPoint presentation and also provide real examples associated with the topic for better understanding.
