My college days

Well, as a whole the condition is not upto the standard level but despite this, I am optimistic since the management tries to cope-up with the other colleges.

I had an M.Sc entrance test where I was eligible for B.tech instead of M.Sc according to my rank.This college has a very enriched past and so I choose the legacy over my desire.

Unfortunately, I don't like the course structure since it's not so updated.For example, in our department, network system is not taught.Moreover, the currently trending subjects such as Arduino, IoT etc are not included.But, once you enter into research level, the condition is not so bad.

No,till now this facility is not available yet.But, I think the management is trying their best to improve in this particular area and within 2 or 3 years, we shall hear a positive response on this matter.

Ummm, this is a tricky question because the placement is neither very good nor very bad.But, even you don't get placement during your study, there's a very good chance of getting a standard job after completing your study.The reason behind this, once you passed out from this college you can feel that your basic concepts about the core subjects are all clear.

There is a cultural event which is held every year, which is known as Reunion,where all present and past students come and meet.Moreover, there is an event which is held at every year during Dol(Rangoli festival).It's actually organized by students for the last few years.The management is also trying to make it bigger.

This is a one of the major plus point; since it's a government college, so the fee structure is quite nominal.It's very much feasible as compared to the other private engineering colleges.For B.tech students,the all total fees should lie well below 20k(including everything and I actually exaggerate it).

Well, there is a scholarship known as MCM(merit-cum-means) scholarship.Those who have an academically good score but financially not so strong, the scholarship is for them.I don't know what is the exact amount.Apart from that, there is a scholarship which is sponsored by TEQUIP.

Frankly speaking, the campus life is not at all like other colleges, which is, honestly, very very bad.The gender ratio is 65:35 while 65 represents male and 35 represents female.Talking about workshops, there are many workshops which are frequently held at our college

Since I don't avail to any of these, so I can't write much.But I've few friends over there and by listening to their experience, I can assure you that you don't need to worry at least about mess food.It's very cheap yet tasty.Moreover, the hostel is fully wi-fi enabled zone(again I heard it from friends)

Well, this college has a very enriched past and so the alumni network or senior students.I personally have a good fortune to have a chance to meet with some of them.

The exam structure is very standard which is "semester system".Like any other college, it also has an internal assessment.But, particularly in our department(Radiophysics and Electronics), the exam structure is not at all hectic.Full marks for each subject is 50 while the time is 2 hours.

The procedure includes the "60-40" system.If you're a student of C.U then you actually belong to both(60% as well as 40%, which was actually my case).In that case,if you don't qualify for the 60%(selection will be based upon your graduation result)then you can go for 40%(selection will be based upon your result of entrance test); but in that case, you've to compete with the students from other universities also.

The faculty is very good at least academically they're all very sound.At present, the head of our department Dr. D.Guha is a IEEE fellow.Apart from him,there is a prof.,Dr. J.Y.S(who is currently my guide for the M.Tech project), who is a well-known person in the antenna research in India.
