SRM University Chennai Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

SRMSOM is among the leading B-schools in Tamilnadu and due to the same thing I decided to pursue my MBA from here. It has been placed at 84th position by The Week for MBA and has the affiliation of SRM Institute Of Technology, Chennai. SRMSOM is approved from UGC and has Grade''A' accreditation by NAAC also. For MBA admissions here the academic records, entrance score and PI round are the major factors.

Placements entirely depend on the course and the preference the college gives to that particular course, CSE is one of them in our college. We get placement offers ranging from 4 lacs per annum to dream packages like 20 lacs per annum. Companies most popular being mass recruiters like Infosys, cognizant, Accenture but they also give dream offers but the numbers are limited. Then the course-related companies like Philips, HTC, Samsung, etc also visit the college in the placement seasons. Also, a lot of opportunities are there in the internship fairs which are being held every semester. Startups are also funded here. Then comes the tech giants with super dream offers like Amazon, Microsoft but their test is difficult which is acceptable. We become eligible for placements from our 7th semester. Super dream offers are 30 lacs and above and it keeps changing from year to year. Mostly 90% of students have placed yet it's never very clear whats the exact number of students it's always a round-off.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester. 70% percent of the students get placed. The highest package goes up to 35 lac Companies that visit our college are: Google Amazon Microsoft Infosys IBM

I choose to study MBA programme from the SRM University, School of Management Studies. As I had studied my BBA from SRM University, it was very easy for me to pursue my MBA programme from the same university as the institute has a lot of good aspects such as academic rigour, unique teaching methodology, impressive placements, challenging and rigorous curriculum, amazing campus environment, etc. Admission for the MBA programme was done based on CAT scores followed by PI.

This institute provides active industry department affiliation by finding common area in research project and consultancy service. B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering followed by SRMJEE score is necessary for admisson. Any candidate qualified in IIT JEE main /SAT also can apply for the admission.

Before placement seasons there is internship season and it comes at the end of every year. All the tech giants like google, amazon, and Microsoft visit with various packages but for selective no of people and also Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, and tcs offer quite attractive packages. The elite students definitely get the top offers of more than 30 lacs per annum and it's considered as a dream offer and the come packages of 10lacs and above offered by startups and renowned companies and then there are mass recruiters which offer packages ranging from 3.5 lacs to 6 lacs per annum. We become eligible for placements from the 7th semester. Also, the interest of companies and for the particular courses are different like for Electrical department.

I will get back to this question after a few years, only then would I able to justify my opinions. But I'd surely disclose what my plan is, I have open options after completing my degree. 1) I'd opt for M. Arch in a renowned abroad University and go for placement from there. 2) I'd focus on the placements, get a job, acquire practical experience and then go for M. Arch. 3) I'd do an internship under an architect or a firm and then do my M. Arch

I chose SRM University for my UG because of my course. Genetic engineering is not a widely found course in India. SRM had a good reputation for my course in terms of faculty and laboratory. I gained admission in SRM through SRM JEE. I enrolled in the campus soon after with my class commencing in July 18 2016. I came across SRM University from a relative who?Ûªd studied there. I combed the university website for this course and understood the course details before applying for the course.The only aspect I feel that the university could improve on is the core placements in biotechnology. Even though a few companies come for placements, it?Ûªs not many. However as most students pursue a PG after this degree, I do believe that this a subjective matter.

Placements in this college can vary greatly. If you have good connections to your seniors, teachers and other faculty members, then you can get a very good package till 20LPA, but if you are someone with fewer connections and decent skills then you can get up to 6LPA. A lot of companies do come into the campus including some of the best Tech giants i.e Googe, Microsoft, Infosys etc usually, most of the students are hired on an average package of 5-6LPA but you have to maintain a good score to pass a minimum eligible criteria.

The facilities provided are quite good at the SRM campus. The admission process took place on 15 June, before that there is counselling as per the marks or ranks acquired in the online test. At the time of the admission, SRM ID card is issued. The bad aspect of college is they charge every small things. They don't give anything without fees, every facilities and every small things costs you on campus. They charge for exam fee, breakage fee and many other fees. During this pandemic time, they charged for heavy exam fee and without conducting the exams. It feels that everything is a part of business. A suggestion that don't come in influence of big buildings, campus scenes, hostel facilities and other things which will not be used by you during your college. Just check the level of education and fees structure before applying for such a college. Not anyone can afford such a huge heavy charges they take in regular intervals of semesters.
