SRM University Chennai Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The placements of the college are pretty decent and many major companies like TCS, Wipro, Amazon, Udaan etc. come for the placement purpose. The average placement is about 10 lakh per annum and the highest placement is about 42 lakh per annum.

In the 3rd some students came to get placement offers and before your 4th-year final exams companies come for placement. All major IT companies come to campus for placement Highest package by Microsoft with 43 lakh pa and average package around 8 lakh pa. Around more than 90% of students are placed.

The student: faculty ratio is well standardised in all the classes. It's 70:1. And the courses taught here to go through basics and have a lot of specialised courses with given flexibility to learn anything and create our projects and other stuff.

The placement percentage is quite good. Many well-known companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft etc visit campus for recruitment. The highest package recorded to be 40 LPA. Most of all the students are recruited in mass recruitment.

Most of the students of our college got placed in product based or service based company according to their skills and knowledge in all over the field. The highest package can go up to 42 lacs but yeah some companies take mass recruitment at a very low salary. I after getting a degree want to be placed with a good package and then after some years will start my own start up.

Great hands-on learning, infrastructure and laboratories. Higher placement and internship opportunity. The exposure of multi-discipline university and multi-cultural outlook encouraged me to apply and visit the campus once. Upon getting selected and enrolled, I liked the university for it's curriculum and extra-curriculum in forms of tech teams and cultural groups.

I was thinking that it's a tier 1 college at the beginning but gradually I found that I was wrong and all the catchy and fascinating things are getting fade day by day. In the first year, I came with a dream like other of grabbing a Super dream offer but as I came in third year I found it quite difficult as there are only just one or two companies which visits the campus placement drive with a package of 10lpa or more

From the sixth semester onwards students are eligible for the campus placements. The placements are fine. Actually, most of the students get placed. Obviously, the package will vary from company to company. The highest salary package offered is 40LPA by Microsoft, and the average packages offered are 3-4LPA. Everything depends on the skill of the student. Top recruiters are Amazon, Google, Microsoft.

One of the major reasons for choosing this college according to me was it Semester Abroad Program and the tie ups with foreign universities it had. Students would have an amazing opportunity to attend a semester of college in some of the most prestigious universities like MIT, University of Wisconsin Madison et al. Some of the good aspects about the college were also that it has great scope for placement it has surprising amount of companies visiting the campus and although quite few of them pay below average, there are still plenty of high paying offers. Bad aspects about the college, one of the things this college lags behind is in terms of curriculum although you will have courses like ML, Data Science the quality of teaching and the curriculum is below par. The college is also very expensive for the amenities it has to offer. Very orthodox curriculum oriented college where if the student wants to do something on his own in terms of academia, expect a lot of resistance from the faculty.
