Remarks
Great hands-on learning, infrastructure and laboratories. Higher placement and internship opportunity. The exposure of multi-discipline university and multi-cultural outlook encouraged me to apply and visit the campus once. Upon getting selected and enrolled, I liked the university for it's curriculum and extra-curriculum in forms of tech teams and cultural groups.
Course Curriculum Overview
The university provides unique courses and electronics and instrumentation really stood out for me. I was interested in understanding what it came with and was not disappointed at all. The faculties are firm but helpful and care great deal for your career oriented goals. The soft skills and employability training provided by institute makes you confident and helps with placement procedures. Overall, it is a great university to be part of.
Placement Experience
SRM has a good 90% placement rate guaranteed and it is growing. There is a considerably higher number companies visiting for IT roles and every department is eligible for most of this roles. A few highlights from my year of placement (2020) would be- IBM (my current employer btw ;)), Microsoft, Amazon, Udaan, Siemens, Schneider, Deloitte, TCS, Capegemini, ZS Associates, Nisaan IT, Unilever and Ather Energy.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure seems to be divided into annual tuition and rest is amenities provided. For a private institute providing such exposure to cultural, tech and management irrespective of your discipline is quite decent. With that being said, SRM helps by providing scholarship in sports- track events, there is a founder's scholarship which students are eligible to request for and will have to pass a simple assessment. Then there is merit based scholarship and you can always request assistance in form of student loans as SBI and CUB branches are present on campus.
Campus Life
It is definitely a plethora of culture with an annual techno-management fest- Aaruush and a cultural fest- Milan. Students have opportunities to divulge deep into technology and hone their skills in FAB Lab, various tech racing teams and technology centric groups like SRMPedia, SRMkzilla (SRM's partnership with Mozilla) and NextTechLab (Definitely most popular and self-learning place for those interested in IoT,AI, ML). Institutions like IEEE, IET, Arduino and Microsoft have their campus chapters which adds value to knowledge and CV.
