A balanced journey at SRM

I would rate the curriculum at SRMIST around 9/10 for relevance and comprehensiveness. It includes industry focused subjects like AI, ML and core programming, which inflused my choice. The curriculum builds a strong foundation needed for industry readiness. Exam are held through 2 internals and 1 end semester with moderate difficulty. Improvement could include more practicle exposure and less theory heavy teaching in some subjects.

Internship opportunities A]at SRM Institute of Science and technology are quite good especially for CSE students. But they depend largely on individual efforts and skills. The college provides support through its Placement cell, internship portals and faculty references. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Infosys and startups offer software Internship roles such as software developer intern, data analyst intern, and web developer intern with stifends ranging from 10K to 50k per month depending on the company and role. Students typically work on real time projects like Web application development, machine learning models, data analysis dashboards or backend systems which help in building practical skills and strengthening resumes. In my experience Internships involved applying concepts learning in class to solve real world problems improving coding, problem solving and teamwork skills. The overall outcome is Industry exposure and better placement readiness through students need to actually apply and prepare to secure top internships

Placements at SRMIST are strong especially for CSE with students becoming eligible from the 6th semester and receving training beforehand . Top recruited like Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Infosys and wipro visit the campus offering roles such as software Developer, Data Analyst and ML Engineer. The highest package can reach 40*50 LPA. while the average ranges around 5-8 LPA and about 80-90% of students get placed based on there skills and preparation.

The total cost of my B tech CSE Course is approximately 20-25 lakhs depending on hostel and additional expenses. The fees are slightly increasing every year. Scholarships are mainly based on SRMJEEE rank and academic performance with up to 100% fee waiver available. Students from SC/ST categories can avail government scholarships and fee reimbuesements.

My overall campus life experience at SRM Institute Science and technology has been very engaging and diverse expecially in terms of social exposure, clubs and infrastructure. The campus hosts major festivals like Milan which is one of the biggest cultural fests and Aaruush which focuses on technical events, hackathons and innovations. The library is well equipped with a wide range of books ,research journals under digital resources that are easily accessible to students, Classrooms are modern with smartboards, projectors and good WiFi connectivity supporting interactive learning. The campus also offers strong sports infrastructure including grounds for cricket, football, basketball, gyms and indoor games. There are numerous student run clubs and communities like coding clubs, cultural teams and entrepreneurship cells. which plays a huge role in improving skills, networking and overall personality development these clubs and events create a vibrant campus life and provide a balance between academic and extracurricular activities

The hostel facility at SRM Institute of Science and technology Is decent and convenient especially for first year and outstation students. Rooms are available in different types and are equipped with basic amenities like bed, study table, chair, cupboard, wifi and attached/common bathrooms. The infrastructure is well maintained but room space can feel a bit compact in higher sharing options. The mess quality is good the menu is varied with both Veg And non-veg options.The hostel registration process is done during admission through an online or offline system and rooms are allotted based on availability and preference The cost ranges roughly from 1.5 to 2.5 per year Which is slightly on the higher side but manageable considering facilities and security. Hostels have strict in time rules and security which ensures safety but can feel restrictive at times. Overall, the hostel provides a safe and comfortable environment with good peer interaction.

I chose SRMIST over other college because of its strong placements oppurtunities, modern infrastructure and industry oriented curriculum for CSE. I had also applied to VIT and other colleges. While VIT is academically strong, i preferred SRM for its campus exposure , diverse stundent community and active technical clubs. Compared to VIT, SRM offered better placement support and a more competitive coding environment, whcih aligned with my career goals. Eligibility requrires around 50-60% in PCM in 12th grade. Based on rank, students are alloted brances and campuses through counseling. There is also a mangement quota option. Overall, the admission process was smooth and well organized, making it a practicle and reliablr choice.

At SRMIST overall the faculty members are approachable and supportive if students take initiative. Many professors are well qualified and explain concepts clearly, especially in core subjects through the teaching quality can vary with some being more theory focused and less engaging. personally, i found faculty who used practicle examples and real world applications more effective.The exam system consists of continuous internal assessments like internals, assignments, quizzes and an End semester exam with a 60:40 scheme. The difficult level is moderate manageble with consist study and the failure rate is relatively low, mailnly depending on student preparation rather than exam toughness.

Nightlife around srm institute Of Science and technology is quite active and student friendly It's not extremely late night like Metro city hubs On campus Most cafeterias an food courts stay open till Around 10 to 11PM. While the library Usually closes by 8 to 9 PM. The gym and sport facilities generally close by evening around 8 to 9 PM. Hostel in time is usually around 9:30 to 10:00 PM and Stricter for girls and campus entries monitored after that for safety. Students usually Unwind by hanging out at Popular spots like Java, SRM food court and Potheri lake or by Late night walk and group discussions in hostel common areas. Outside campus places like Potheri have small Cafes, Eateries and hangout spots that students frequently visit. The locality is generally safe at night especially around campus as there is regular student movement and security presence. These experiences make life campus life more relaxed and social,helping students De-stress, bond with friends.
