SRM University Chennai Scholarship: Types, Eligibility & Dates

SRM University Scholarships are available for meritorious and deserving students. SRMIST Chennai Scholarships are offered based on the SRMJEEE ranking. A student can avail of only one scholarship at a time. The selection of students for scholarships begins in July every year.

SRM University Chennai Scholarship Types
SRMIST Chennai offers different categories of scholarships to students. Senior Faculty Members and the Director of SRM IST will do the selection of the beneficiaries. Only one scholarship can be availed by a student. There is no scholarship based on NEET, Pharm.D. and Pharm.D. (PB) programs. The table given below shows the SRM University Chennai Scholarships:

SRM University Chennai Founder’s Scholarship
SRM IST Chennai offers a Founder’s Scholarship to Toppers in the Qualifying Examination or IIT JEE Mains taking admission to the first year of the B.Tech course. This scholarship is also available for exemplary sportspersons seeking admission to UG/ PG/ Diploma programs. The table below shows the SRMIST Chennai Founder’s scholarship details:

SRM University Chennai Merit Scholarship
SRMIST Chennai offers meritorious scholarships to candidates who have secured SRMJEE Rank 101-500 (spread across all phases) in SRMJEEE (UG) across all campuses. This scholarship is available for B.Tech candidates only. 100% of the tuition fee is covered for the beneficiaries under this scholarship. SRM University Arts and Culture Scholarship
SRM Arts and Culture Scholarship is offered for students excelling in arts, creativity and cultural activities. Some of the important details about the same is mentioned below:
- SRM Arts and Culture Scholarship provides a 25% – 100% concession on tuition fees in the field of art and culture.
- Recognition of art/culture by the Ministry of Culture, Government of Tamil Nadu, or India is mandatory.
- Candidates must have a participation/winning certificate in District/state/national level competitions by representing SRMIST Chennai.
- Submission of all relevant certificates and awards is mandatory.
SRM University Differently-Abled Scholarship
SRM IST-Differently Abled Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to differently-abled students. Details on SRM IST-Differently Abled Scholarship are mentioned below:
- SRM IST Differently-Abled Scholarship is further divided into five categories: Locomotor/ Orthopaedic disability, Visually impaired, Speech & Hearing Impaired, Mental disability and Multiple disabilities.
- This Scholarship offers a 25% – 100% concession on tuition fees to all the above-mentioned categories.
- Candidates with admission to the regular program offered by SRM University Chennai can avail of the scholarship.
- Candidates must submit Disability Certificate from the appropriate government authority.

- The canteen is good . The food here is healthy and delicious.The best thing is that, the food is made with hygiene. The staff is also very cooperative. The ambience is also great .

- There is too fighting inside the campus,.
- Some of faculty from southern part of India are racist towards students..
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Tuition is 2 lakh rupees for 1 year for my course/batch. Additional fees like sports, library and special fees add upto 16k per year. Bus fees for panipat is around 44k per year. Scholarship are given based upon 12th percentage, jee rank, srmjeee and etc. fees for the same course has been increased by 50k this year.

- Infrastructure is fine. University has multiple elevators and escalators for easy access through all the floors
- Library has abundant of books and resources available.
Dislikes
- Fight breakouts are quite common and police is involved mostly too.
- Faculty is half south-indian and half north-indian. Faculty from southern parts are quite difficult to understand as they're a bit racist
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Tuition fees for my batch was 2 Lakhs rupees per year, library/sports/ special fees add upto 16000 per year. Exam fees is around 6000 per semester for my course. I had 25% scholarship scored from SRMJEEE which reduced my tuition fees by 50k for 1st year. I use University bus whose fees was 45k for 1st year, and now is 49.5k per year. Overall tuition fees has been increased by 50k for students taking admission this year in my course.

- the faculties are well experienced and well behaving

- there is a bit issue of ragging from seniors
- some securites are soo rude that they dont even know how to talk to students
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
i have to pay fee of about 3L per anum. They also provide scholarships which can reduce your course fees. for courses like cse and all they do charge about 5L per anum. While coming to nursing they charge a decnt amount of 1.5L per anum and they do provide value for money education.

- Hostels are much stricter sometimes coz of that students may face problems sometimes

Yearly fee of tution is 4lakhs (400000) and hostel charges upto 2.5lakhs based on the sharing.every year the fee increases . registration fee is 10000 and semister fee carries seperate . scholarships are applicable to those who get rank below 500 in SRM exam which is held by the university

So the yearly fees for btech(CSE) is 4.75 Lakhs per year that includes all the facilities apart from that we have to pay semester fees separately. The scholarship amount provides concession in the tution fees depending upon the CGPA you scored. Currently am not having any scholarship according to my rank in SRMJEE

- Networking. Collage campus are the best gold mines of networking where student interacts with classmates and highly qualified professors

- Academic stress. Keeping up the pace of coursework curricular activites and social can be stressfull for some students
- Economic costs. Mostly students consider most students consider tution fees too costly
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The fee structure for my course varies by year and catogery. For the first year i paid 370000 which includes tution fee caution fee registration fee addmission fee development fee lab fee and other compulsary charges. For the second year the fee decreases slighty to 3600000 how ever it is important to note that the fee are subjective increasing subsequent years regarding scholorship there are various options avalible financial options are avalaible for students including for merit baised scholrship and need bases financial aid.

There used to buy i doubt it now .like when I joined CBSE students were given scholarships who joined via SRMJEEE now , everyone is same , except EAPCET ,but their fees are also increased to some 100000.

- The campus is soo good, faculties and management is also top notch but the state domination is high due to which North Indians should get exploited sometimes.
- Engagement with campus life is so good ,, quality of social interaction is also top notch you get good north Indians frnds if you are from North side..

- The south indian dominance it don't like at all means we are also paying the fees so why would be exploited them on the basis of native place n all.
- One more thing I don't like about srm is the allowance of all vehicle inside the campus which led the mishape chances ..

Year wise fees is 115000, first year 10000 caution money is there, caution money is taken once for the whole course, for BBA in SRM you would not be eligible for the scholarship n all, and no concession for the category wise means(st,sc) for etc..,, fees is according to specialition that you have opted ..

- The college is overwhelming crowded during peak college hours.

The year wise fees I paid is 475000 and it's going to be same for all four years. The fees is reduced by a percentage if you get a scholarship during entrance exam. The fees for freshers increases every year. The founder scholarship is the one that gives hundred percent waiver on tuition fees.

Sem wise fees would be 1,15,000 for qnd for an year it would calculate upto 2,30,000 Registration fees and other stuff would be less like 3k-6k NRI students give out 3,00,000 There are good placements for our college

There are two scholarships offered on CGPA basis- Need Based and Low Income Family scholarship. The CGPA required for Need based should be more tha 9 and the recommendation of the scholarship committee. The CGPA required for Low Family Income should be more tha 7 and the recommendation of the scholarship committee.
