JoSAA Counselling 2025: Round 1 Seat Allotment (Out), Check Dates, Seat Matrix, Eligibility, and Required Documents

The JoSAA has released the schedule for JEE Main Counselling 2025 on their official website. JoSAA 2025 Round 1 Seat Allotment result is released on June 14, 2025. Shortlisted candidates must report online and pay seat acceptance fee by June 18, 2025.

  • The Round 2 allotment will be out on June 21, Round 3 on June 28, Round 4 on July 4, Round 5 on July 10, and Round 6 on allotment result will be declared on July 16, 2025.

JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result – Out

The JoSAA Counselling 2025 will be held in six rounds, starting from 14 June to 22 July 2025 for the IITs, followed by the NITs and system-only rounds from 16 July to 28 July 2025. The JoSAA Registration has started from 3 June 2025, after the release of JEE Advanced 2025 result, along with the choice filling and AAT choices from 8 June 2025. The last date for registration and choice filling is June 12, 2025. 

The JoSAA 2025 Counselling provides admission to 127 top engineering institutes in India, including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 47 GFTIs. The total number of seats intake for B.Tech admission through JoSAA 2025 is approximately 59,937 seats.

The candidates who have at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) in class 12 or are in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards are eligible for JoSAA Counselling 2025.

The JoSAA Registration with choice filling started from 3 June 2025 at 5 PM, after the declaration of JEE Advanced Results. The JoSAA has announced 2 mock test allotments on June 9 and June 11, 2025. The final registration and choice submission will end on 12 June at 5 PM, after JoSAA verifies data on 13 June 2025.

This schedule will help over 60,000 candidates secure admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

JoSAA Counselling 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The JoSAA has set some eligibility criteria for the candidates who wish to take admission into top engineering colleges through JEE Main or JEE Advanced.

The JEE Advanced qualifiers are eligible for IITs, whereas JEE Main qualifiers can apply to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Candidates must complete the academic qualifying criteria by scoring at least 75% in Class 12 (65% for restricted categories).

Only the top 250,000 applicants from JEE Main are eligible to take the JEE Advanced exam. Candidates for architecture must pass the AAT. SC, ST, and PwD candidates are the only ones eligible for preparatory courses.

Seat distribution is determined by rank and preferences, and online registration is required. The document verification is the most important step to check the authenticity of the candidate.

JoSAA Counselling 2025 Process

The JoSAA Counselling 2025 registration will start from 3 June 2025 with the choice filling on the official JoSAA portal. The candidates must register for JoSAA Counseling 2025 using their JEE Main or JEE Advanced credentials.

  • Choice Filling: Following registration, applicants select the colleges and courses they wish to enroll in. The JoSAA 2025 is conducting 2 mock seat allotments to provide help in decision-making.
  • Choice Locking: In order to verify their preferences, applicants must lock their choices before the deadline.
  • Seat Allotment JoSAA distributes seats in several rounds based on ranks, locked choices, and available seats.
  • Online Reporting: After being assigned a seat, candidates must report online by submitting the required documents, paying the seat acceptance fee, and answering any queries.
  • Admission Confirmation: Following the completion of the online reporting, candidates pay the necessary fees and report to the designated institute to confirm their admission.

The JoSAA Counselling Application fee is non-refundable, and the seat acceptance fees vary across different categories like ₹35,000 for General, OBC-NCL, and EWS. ₹17,500 for SC, ST, PwD. It can be paid online via debit/credit card, net banking, or through e-challan.
