Each subject of JEE Main has an equal weightage of 33.33%. JEE Questions from Class 12th have a higher weightage in the exam than Class 11th topics. NTA has released JEE Main Syllabus 2024 pdf. Because of the reduction in CBSE NCERT syllabus and different education boards, JEE Main Syllabus 2024 has also been reduced. 11 chapters from Chemistry, Physics and Maths have been deleted.

Ques. What is the JEE marks for 2024?
Ans.
NTA has not yet released JEE Main Exam Pattern 2024. However, based on the previous year question paper pattern, JEE Main total marks 2024 is 300. Each subject in JEE Main B.Tech paper, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics carries a weightage of 100 marks each.

Ans.
JEE Main is one of the highly competitive entrance exam in India. Over 10 lakh applicants register each year for around 40,000 seats available at NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Additionally, out of the 10 lakh applicants only 2.5 lakh candidates are eligible for the IIT JEE exam. Additionally, there are 64 chapters in JEE Main Syllabus that are to be prepared for the exam. All this makes the exam highly competitive and a tough one to crack. However, with proper preparation and resources, question bank, books, etc. candidates can ace the exam well. 

Ques. What are the most weighted chapters in JEE Mains?
Ans.
There are 16 chapters in JEE Main Maths, 20 chapters in Physics and 28 chapters in Chemistry. However, some of the chapters in these subjects carry a higher weightage as compared to others.

  • Most weighted chapters in Physics are Current Electricity, Gravitation, Electrostatics, Magnetic Effects of Current, Ray Optics, Thermodynamics, etc.

JEE Main Chapter wise Weightage 2023

NTA conducted JEE Main 2023 in month of January and April. According to the students’ the paper was moderately challenging with a well balance of chapters in both sessions. Mathematics was the most difficult subject, followed by Physics and Chemistry. However, in session 2, students found Chemistry to be slightly more challenging than Physics.

JEE Main Chapter wise Weightage 2021

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, JEE Mains was conducted four times in 2021 in the months of February, March, August and July. NTA also made changes to JEE exam pattern in the same year. Each subject now had 30 questions (20 MCQs and 10 integer type questions). Students were given a choice to attempt any 5 questions from the 10 integer-type questions.

Ques. Is Class 11th syllabus important in JEE Mains?
Ans
. Yes, CBSE NCERT Class 11th syllabus is important in JEE Mains. The syllabus for JEE Main is based on both Class 11th and 12th topics. 40% of JEE questions are from Class 11th NCERT chapters while 60% from Class 12th NCERT. This percentage might also change to 50:50 or even 60:40 during the actual exam. Therefore, candidates must also prepare Class 11th syllabus for JEE Mains.

Ques. Is Class 12th enough for JEE Mains?
Ans.
No, just preparing Class 12th syllabus for JEE Mains is not enough to ace the exam. NTA gives almost equal weightage to Class 11th and 12th NCERT syllabus while preparing the question paper. Therefore to score 95%ile+ in JEE Mains, candidates must prepare chapters from both Class 1th and 12th.
