- Students who received a seat in an NIT+ institute during JoSAA counselling (any round) and whose seat remains active (not withdrawn or cancelled) can now pay their PAF online via the JoSAA portal from July 24, 2024.
- This applies only to students with confirmed seats after the 5th round, who already paid the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF).
- The deadline to pay the PAF is July 26th, 2024, at 5 PM. Missing this deadline will result in seat cancellation.
The Partial Admission Fee (PAF) amount depends on your admission category –
- General (GEN), Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL), and General EWS (GEN-EWS) candidates will pay ₹45,000.
- Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates will pay ₹20,000.
- If your category changed from SC/ST to General (GEN) or PwD to non-PwD during verification, you'll pay ₹62,500. This includes an additional ₹17,500 to cover the difference between the PAF for your original and updated categories
CSAB Supernumerary Counselling 2024 conducted to fill supernumerary seats in NIT Calicut, NIT Durgapur, and SVNIT Surat for candidates belonging to Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. CSAB Special Round Counselling 2024 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for CSAB special round counselling 2024, candidates must fulfil the following eligibility criteria,
- Must have qualified JEE Main 2024 result cutoff.
- Must fulfil JoSAA Top 20 percentile criteria.
- Candidates must also meet one of the following guidelines
- did not register in JoSAA rounds but fulfil the eligible criteria
- participated in JoSAA counselling but have not been allotted any seat
- participated in JoSAA and have been allotted seats but cancelled due to non-payment of Seat Acceptance Fee
- have exercised the EXIT option during JoSAA counselling
- participated in JoSAA and have been allotted seats in any IIT and later Cancelled/ Withdrawn seat.
- Seat cancelled due to issue in document verification or payment of full admission fee

CSAB Special Round Counselling Willingness Options
Candidates allotted seats in CSAB Special Round Counselling are required to exercise one of the five willingness options,
- FREEZE: Candidates ACCEPT the allotted seat and do not want to participate in the next round of allocation.
- SLIDE: Candidates ACCEPT the allotted seat but also wish to participate in the 2nd round of allotment for a higher preferred seat in the same allotted institute.
- FLOAT: Candidates ACCEPT the allotted seat but also wish to participate in the 2nd round of allotment for a higher preferred seat in the same or any other institute and branch.
- SURRENDER: Candidate REJECTS the allotted seat and wants to participate in the 2nd round of counselling.
- WITHDRAW: Candidate REJECTS the allotted seat and does not wish to participate in the 2nd round of counselling.
For candidates who are not allotted any seat in the first round of counselling can exercise another option, EXIT. This option implies that the candidate is not willing to participate in the 2nd round of the allotment process.
CSAB Special Round Counselling Fee
Candidates are required to complete CSAB Special Round Counselling registrations separately. To successfully complete the counselling registration, candidates are required to pay a Special Round Enrolment Fee (SREF) and Institute Admission Fee (IAF) online through Net Banking / Debit card / Credit card or State Bank of India e-challan.

- All candidates who are eligible for JoSAA Counselling and CSAB Special Round Counselling are also eligible for CSAB Supernumerary Round provided their State Code of Eligibility is one of the UTs of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep, or Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
- Candidate has not been allotted any seat under JoSAA (6 rounds) and CSAB Special Round Counselling (2 Rounds).

CSAB NEUT Counselling 2024 is conducted for candidates belonging to 8 North Eastern States and 4 Union Territories.
- These seats are offered under the reservation scheme of the Government of India for students who do not have engineering colleges/ polytechnics or have lack of facilities for education in specific fields of technical education.
- This reservation is offered only to students belonging to Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
- The counselling is conducted only for seats reserved in Institutes that are not covered under CSAB or JoSAA and some seats of NERIST, Itanagar.
- CSAB NEUT Counselling Process consists of 2 rounds of counselling followed by a spot round of counselling.

CSAB Counselling 2024 FAQs
Ques. Will my choices filled in JoSAA be carried forward or I will have to fill choices again in Special Round?
Ans. Special Round is a process conducted by CSAB 2024 only for NIT + System and is separate from JoSAA, hence a candidate will have to register again and will be required to fill-in choices again from the seat matrix of NIT + System Institutes.
Ques. Can I participate again in joint seat allocation in the next round once I reject/withdraw the allocated seat?
Ans. No. You cannot participate anymore in seat allocation for the academic year 2024-25 for 7 JoSAA rounds. However, you can participate in the Special Vacant Seat Filling Round conducted by CSAB only for NIT + System institutes.
Ques. Will there be any other round after seven JoSAA Rounds?
Ans. There will be one Special Vacant Seats Filling round after regular JoSAA rounds only for NIT + Institutes. Details of this special round will be available on the website csab.nic.in
Ques. How JoSSA different from CSAB?
Ans. JoSSA is different from CSAB in terms of its counselling sessions. When JoSSA concludes its admission process for seat filling in IITs, NITs, and other Engineering Colleges then CSAB conducts some special rounds of interviews to fill the vacant seats in those institutes.
Ques. Will CSAB 2024 Conduct spot counselling rounds?
Ans. Yes, there are chances of conducting spot counselling rounds if there are seats left after all the seven rounds of counselling.
