Honestly speaking, the 48 percentile in JEE Mains is not a good score and won't fetch you any offers from government engineering colleges. Even if you belong to a reserved category, the chances of getting admission to a good college with such a low percentile are rare. That being said, I have 2 suggestions for you.

Look for a private engineering college if money is not a constraint.
Take a drop year, study hard, and target better colleges next year.

In my opinion, it's better to take a drop year than to join a private college.
