Dislikes
- Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs. ~ Akaash R, B.Tech

- Lot of labs are there for research work. Not only subject labs but CFI (centre for innovation) and Research park are there for studemts interested .
- Almost all kind of sports facilities are there including Olympic size swimming pool, Cricket ground, Badminton courts and so on.
- Large campus area full of flora and fauna. Deers are there.
Dislikes
- We have to cycle to our classrooms and no AC
Placement Experience:
Placements in IITs are commmendable. Our average package is 22 lacs overall.
Coming to my branch. Highest package offered was 55 lacs and lowest was 6 lacs . Average package offered was around 15 lacs per annum. Many companies including Google, Microsoft, Goldman sachs etc. visit here for campus placements.

- I liked the course content, the user experience on website
- I liked the engagement of the faculty, even being in online mode, teachers are doing their best to provide best of the best
- I liked the low fees and the freedom to opt any other online or offline course along with the current course
Dislikes
- It would we great if they provided us with option to visit campus during festivals and exams
Placement Experience:
Placements are good, as the degree is completely online, but it is nowhere mentioned in the certificate, IIT helps one to get good package in Data Science fields, maybe the college does not provide placemnts, but students have gotten in big companies through off-campus placements

- At very first, you get a chance to be an IITian without JEE. This makes you understand the level of IIT
- Secondly, there is total flexibility given to students. You can watch recorded lectures at your own convenience whenever you want.
- Talking about placements. IIT have their own placement cell for placement assistance. And very renowned companies are part of it.
Dislikes
- Although they have tried there best to make it engaging and interactive but I feel there could be more done to keep students much more involved.
- Some would see it as a pros but I feel this could be a con. There is no minimum attendance required. It's your wish you attend or you don't the classes.
Placement Experience:
From 3rd year onwards students can be part of placement assistance. Moreover, throughout four years you receive offers for internships.
As it is a new degree so no official data is avaliable on name of companies and no. of offers.
However, though sources it is shared that avergae package range around 15- 20 lakhs per annum.
I plan to do my masters in data science from some American University.

- House system give great opportunity for socializing with other peers and take part in activity

Placement Experience:
After completing one diploma you can apply for internships and after your 3rd year, you can apply for the placement while going on with your last year.
You need atleast 8+ cgpa to get the placement.
The package is also quite well

- The exam mode is done offline , In the exam centers nearby
- The faculty of teachers is very prestigious and they are the top professors of india

- This course is online , doesn't have a touch
- This course needs a consistency to complete it with in time
- The subjects in this course are much harder than the normal colleges course
Placement Experience:
I.I.T madras also provide placement and internship assistance, they provide on campus placements and also gives training for the placement and internship , there are many companies like tcs , nissan group , tiger analytics etc which approachs students for placement.

- Course Curriculum was comprehensive and the professors really helped in solving the doubts.
- Exposure to different teams and the selection process was also precise.
- Question papers and doubts were cleared on time
Dislikes
- A bit of politics involved in the student team selections
- Deviation with respect to personal habits
- Mess food sometimes is not upto the mark
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum was comprehensive and we have an option to choose free electives from other departments too. We would have 2 quizzes and one end semester exam in a semester and meanwhile assignments will be shared at regular intervals of time.

- The faculties are very much experienced, as it is an IIT. Their teaching methodology is also very good as they have a practical and example based approach.
- The lectures provided in the portal are easy to access. They are uploaded in a systematic way.
- We are doing this course in online but still we have our separate houses. Many types of clubs are also there which enhances the extra curricular activities of students.
Dislikes
- This program is little bit lengthy to complete, because the minimum time to complete this program is 4 yrs and it could also take as long as 8 yrs.
- There are not much live classes to do in this course as we have got recorded lectures.
- We did not get campus access as it is an online degree.
Placement Experience:
This course offers internships from 2nd year and placements from 3 year itself. Till now the bs students are not graduated , so there is no data of placements. But it is very relevant in the job market because data science is currently in a boom in the market. After college you could go for masters or PhD orelse you can apply for gate Da paper.

Placement Experience:
Placement opportunities are decent summer internship program starts from the next month of you joining College in July the company start coming in interview starts happening and internships begin in May next year similarly final placements start from October and by December they usually end multiple good companies like Deloitte visit the campus. IIT Madras has been offering 100% placements continuously for the past few years and average CTC has been increasing rapidly over the past years

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.
The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.
Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.

The online Data Science program at IIT Madras is a great opportunity for someone who can not attend regular college because of financial constraints, illness, or other reasons. The online BS in Data Science and Application allows students to gain knowledge of this field from one of the most reputed engineering colleges in India.
