Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees for this course vary according to the category and family income. It is different for SC, different for general, different for ST and the fee is reduced according to the family income. In this course, the fees are for the subjects and not for the whole year. Your fees will be based on the number of subjects you take. The fee for one subject is ?8000 and if you are from the general category then your fee will be 8000 and If you are from SC/ST category then you will get a reduction in your fees. For SC category, up to 50% of your fees can be waived. This means you will have to pay Rs 4000 for one subject even if your family income is low So your fees can be reduced further. This will take you the whole course in 3.5 lakhs. If you get a free waiver, you may have to pay up to 50% less money. It is a very good thing that its fees are reasonable so that even middle class students can get good education from IIT Madras.
