Dislikes

Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs. ~ Akaash R, B.Tech

World class faculty member, their teaching skills is just wow.
The iit alumni tag that makes your CV more facinating.
The access of 625 acres huge campus and the most amzing fests.

Dislikes

The online lectures are less interactive
Every month we have to give exams of every subject we opted

Placement Experience:

We have a placement cell for bs student. After completing degree level, we eligible to sit in the placement and the conclusion of the placements were so good if we see the previous year data of the student getting placed.

Teachers are good . There doubt solving session are amazing
Data science is online but they don't feel you that you online student it's just like offline you will get groups and muck more fun like paradox and all you can visit any time
Data science have very big opportunity .

Dislikes

It should be offline also . So you can get more experience about surrounding
I like all things because after all it's IIT COURSE
There is all good thing there are online competition and session with big famous people u can go offline also for these

These course have big opportunity in these AI GEN WORLD . They give real world applications . They give lesson other than those like bussiness and all . Most interesting they are trips . There are exams with 2 months and level of difficulty is depend on semesters

IIT MADRAS in my POV

Likes

Campus size is big enough to accommodate each building and space for any improvement is always welcomed
Varieties of mess with wonderful food is available
Extra curricular activities are promoted

Dislikes

No proper rainwater management system hence a little trouble in monsoon
The institute hospital is a little bit far from hostel zone
Washing machines in laundries are always busy

Placement Experience:

Placements are above average like most of the other IITs in the country. Students become eligible after the 3 year to sit in the placements. And plans other than placements are research/PhD and also masters.

An inside look at IIT- Madras

Our college has excellent exposure to the outer corporate world how does companies and other tartups works. There are enoumous oppurtunity to work upon your personal idea and build a proper startup out of it
Our college has an excellent cultural life ranging it from celebrating various auspicious occasions to out 2 bigges fest one saraang(the cultutral fest ) and shaastra (the technical fest)
Excellent sports cultutre. Proper access to each and every sports a student can think to explore in their college life with full facilities and sponshorship depending upon the performance in the sports

Dislikes

Competitive mindset among the students. Being the no. 1 college in india (NIRF 1) . Each nd every student has a mindset of competition leading them to frustration and other personal life problems like depression
Being in chennai and leaving in hostel without AC and surviving in the hot summers is quite tough in IIT Madras
A great lack of social interaction among various communities of students from various parts of india.

Placement Experience:

The placement and internship culture is very tough and rigorous in our college. Students start generally preparing from the end of 2nd year for internship which takes place from the start of 3rd year. The placement generally occurs at the end of the 7th semester for the B.TEch students. Some of the multinational companies like Google, Microsoft, BCG, BNY, JP Morgan, etc. come to recruit from our institute and recruit students from various profiles like software consult product managerial roles, etc. Some of the quant companies like Optiver offer packages in crores. The average package for software roles ranges from 20-30 LPA. In our department the previous year 75% of students got placed in various companies under different profiles. My plan is to target product or software-based companies and get placed in any of the companies and after that pursue an MBA from abroad.

The Right Choice? A detailed Review

Likes

Faculty was too good they teach very smoothly
In this course all subjects and topic are teached from basics.
If you give only 2 hours daily then easily score 9+ CGPA

Dislikes

Ther enrolled too much students in this course
It is totally online only exam are offline

Course Curriculum Overview:

In this courses they teach from basic from totally scratch.they teach basic maths then basic programming then level is hight . One good things about this course is you exit whenever you want like after foundation,diploma.

IIT BS an reality

Likes

It is very accessible for any to do this degree as fee is low and there is waiver to.
It has large number of students which helps in connection building.
Once a year offline Paradox event is most liked event.

Dislikes

It is online degree so intrest keep reducing over time.
Lectures are booring which need to be improved.
Offline Interaction with people is very low.

Placement Experience:

After completing 1 deploma you get opportunities for internship. And after completing Bsc you get opportunities for placement. Company like Aditya Birla, HCL,TCS etc. give opportunities. There is no clear data of students placed. Yet my plans are not desided.

Life at IIT Madras

Likes

Beautiful campus and greenary attracts me the most
Girls to boys ratio: 16:100 girls are less in my class
Environment is very pleasant, teaching also very satisfying

Dislikes

Completing the sem in 4 months is a bit clumsy
Unavailability of frequent busses during class hrs
Prices of shops in our campus are a bit high

Placement Experience:

Placements percentage is about 60% in the last academic year. Average package is 15lpa and highest is 1.6cr . I am planning to go for higher studies in the same IIT madras. I want to join mtech in the next year

Sky in iit madras

Likes

Every sports available, every platform is available for all talents , and everything is friendly here, 0 percent ragging, seniors make trip for juniors and movie nights, dj nights , extra activity everyday.
Festivals - sangam , saarang, shaastra, playgrounds , cleanliness.
Girls vs boys ratio is 3:7. Even if you try be friendship with anyone then they will be so friendly.

Dislikes

There are very few in iit madras that i dislike
One thing is hotness but tress are two much so it feels less
Other thing is chapaties in mess thta are too thin

Everyone got placement somewhere or in campus in different paths . For a good placement like 70 la.khs to 1 crore you need to study from 1st year . Study means do your homework time to time and follow the faculty. Highest package 7 crore Average package 25 lakhs Minimum package 10 lakhs Companies like - meta, Amazon , Google ,tata all big , medium , and small companies arrived because it's iit madras ( nirf -1 ) Students become eligible for placement in 4th year. My plan is for startup.

The companies the college has tie ups with includes high paying company such as google, Microsoft etc. Most of the students studying in this college gets internships and placement with an average salary of 35 lacs per annum

Likes

the campus is beautiful, placements are good , hostels are decent and the faculty too.

Dislikes

the weather is so bad , it's like hit hotter and hitesh kind of weather

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course which I am pursuing is related to core. We have multiple opportunities to relate it with daily life examples like motors, truss structures , etc. The improvement they shld do is give more chance of improving our grades like projects.

The online Data Science program at IIT Madras is a great opportunity for someone who can not attend regular college because of financial constraints, illness, or other reasons. The online BS in Data Science and Application allows students to gain knowledge of this field from one of the most reputed engineering colleges in India.

The online lectures are taught by experienced faculty members from IITM. What I found most interesting was the professors' distinct approach to teaching. The students are routinely assisted by committed and supportive staff.

IIT Madras has undertaken a unique approach to imparting their expertise in the highly demanded field of Data Science.

What are your thoughts on IIT Madras offering a bachelor's degree/diploma online?

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.

The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.

Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.
