1st year : 40k for hostel for 1st sem, 40k for hostel in the second sem , for 3rd sem same 40k. The tution fees in the first sem was around 12500 , second sem it was 6000 change for third sem it was 5000 . A whole of 90k per year for reservation candidates and 1 lakh 80 for general candidates.

tution fee depends on what cast you belong to .as for me i am obc and it is 82k per sem which includes hostel,mess and tution fee . and there are many scholarship schemes like mcm scholarship which is provided by alumni for students whose parental income is 1-5 lpa .it is provided 66k per year and as soon we get into college we get many other scholarships based on our skills

Life in IIT

The tuition fees never gave me any issues and since it is a government college, the fees were reasonable compared to other private colleges. For the whole thing, it might cost me around 1 lakh only academically. i got benefitted from the reservation when it came to fees. i don't have any responsibility in campus.

For ST student tution fee is 11350 and scholarships will be provided to the people who have income certificate above 5lakhs per year. campus will provide summer internships and winter internship and also the provide placements in our 7th sem

Another thing is some irrelevant courses in my academics , there are just theory based courses which has no use in further life.

Fees structure is according to the semesters Per semester there is tution fee of 1 lakh rupees , and hostel fees is around 35 thousands for per semester Those who belong to specific Categories get scholarship from many sources As I belong to sc category i also get scholarship from ministry because i belong to category and my family income is upto a certain limit So my total fees per semester is 11345 (tution fee ) + 35000 ( hostel fee) per semester and we have 8 semesters so my fees for my 4 yrs course will be around 4 lakhs There are many scholarships for the students.

My journey in IIT Madras.

Our tuition fee per semester is ?1,18,000 and our hostel fees per semester is ?35,000. In my first semester I was a coordinator for MEA(Mechanical engineering association). Now I am a part of the software module of Team Abhiyaan in CFI. I have also taken work under some research projects to work under professors which will help me to learn more about my interests. In the future,I hope to get good internships.

My experience at IITM

Fees is paid twice an year. amount is split in two parts. Hostel and academic fees has to be paid in the same way. There won't be any hikes in the fee usually. Many scholarships are offered. All the scholarships are usually based on the economic conditions of the family. I am the TA for a particular course. I have to guide and grade a set of students assigned to me in that course.

Students are having fees structure according to their caste. OC and OBC students are having a fees of 100000 and SC and ST students are having a fees of 11300. There won't be any increase in fees. Completed cost of education is 200000 which includes tution and hostel fees. Students are having Alumini scholarship and students having annual income of less than 100000 will be having refund. I'm currently studying 2nd year.

You can choose any course you like and work according to that even professors help you to choose course

you need not worry about the fee as if your family income is below 5 lacks per annum then you do not need to pay anything also there are many concessions if you family income is above 5 lacks per annum to some upper limit. Also, there are tons of opportunities for scholarships and financial assistance if you need as they help you to buy cycles, laptops anything. Yes you have to pay hostel fees if you are not a day schooler but if you are SC or ST student then you need to pay lesser then that. There are many ways to get employment here you can do TAs work once you are 3rd or 4th year or you can do some internships as well.
