Likes

It is very accessible for any to do this degree as fee is low and there is waiver to.
It has large number of students which helps in connection building.

Dislikes

It is online degree so intrest keep reducing over time.
Lectures are booring which need to be improved.

Course Curriculum Overview

It is a good curriculum for data science and my interests in this field help me to take this course. It has lots of projects which gives real world applications. As of now I have completed only 2 course so can't suggest area of improvement. Exam are every month and easy to moderate.

Class Size: 5000Course Fees: INR 50000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Aditya Birla and some startup provide internships in role of web development, data analytics etc. I am new to degree so don't know much about details of internship opportunities but yes they provide good opportunities.

Placement Experience

After completing 1 deploma you get opportunities for internship. And after completing Bsc you get opportunities for placement. Company like Aditya Birla, HCL,TCS etc. give opportunities. There is no clear data of students placed. Yet my plans are not desided.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

My annual fee range from 48000 to 75000 yearly, 32000 for foundation, approx 60000 for deploma and same for degree. There is 3000 registration fees. Whole fee is tution fee as it is online degree. SC/ST get 50% waiver

Campus Life

No campus life. Three main event one offline Paradox in May and other two online in September and January. It has 12 house and societies for different activities. All of them are students run, it also have local groups.

Admission

I didn't get enough score in jee to go for good engineering college so I choose this college. You can take admission here by jee mains marks or by giving qualifier exam. For JEE mains you should be jee advanced eligible to get direct admission.

Faculty

3.5

As it is online degree facility to students ratio is very low. I like prof. Shudarshan Iyengar who was python facility. I don't like maths 1 prof. As he was booring. There are 3 exam in 3 month semester, with 3 semester a year. Exam are average to low difficulty level but projects are bit hard.

IIT Madras: Powerhouse of innovation

Placement Experience:

IITM BS program is an online course so it does follow a traditional placement model. However, the institute is making a lot of efforts to enhance the employability of its students through various means. Students become eligible for internships, placements once they complete either of their diplomas, i.e when they can start sitting for the mock interviews and preparation rounds offered by our placement council. We have a student placement council which approaches the potential employers, and bring in the right opportunities for its students. They conduct various interaction talks by different experts for the guidance of students, and for them to setup a good skilled portfolio for themselves which help them get the right opportunities. The average package offered to the students ranges from 10 to 15 lakhs, depending upon the students portfolio and company profile. A good number of students get placed as there is a high demand for data science skills across industries.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good, as the degree is completely online, but it is nowhere mentioned in the certificate, IIT helps one to get good package in Data Science fields, maybe the college does not provide placemnts, but students have gotten in big companies through off-campus placements

Review about IITM BS degree in Data Science and Programming

Placement Experience:

It's IIT so first of all placements are guaranteed itself, since it's a new course packages are not going that much high like regular students of BTech program but within two-three year it will match those standard as it's a demanding skill and growing industry. Also after this many students are planing for Gate exam as it's syllabus exactly matches with our curriculum for GATE DA paper .

Once you complete the third level of this course which bsc degree wo get eligible for campus placement opportunities. Since only 4 years have passed after starting of this course there is only one placement drive till now. But according to sources 2500 students got placed and many more got internship in many leading companies. As I have heard the highest package is around 12 lpa.

Excellent college

Placement Experience:

I think after completing foundation level students are eligible for intership.They also prepare us for intership ,teaches python dsa and important skill for placements. There are many companies which visit and gave intership and placements. The average placement is 10 lpa and those work hard and prepare well will get higher package also ,it depends on the students After completing the i want to start a startup and build my own company.

We are eligible for placement from 4th year but we can do internship program from 2nd year they will provide enough opportunities to the students for internship and placement this is our first batch that's why placement record didn't came

An inside look at IIT- Madras

Being IIT Madras and NIRF 1 college and to gain the IIT Tag I joined this college which I believe has a huge impact on corporate life after graduation. Being in IIT we always receive a better exposure than any private college or 2nd Tier colleges in India. The admission process for the 4-year Btech program is that you have to clear one of the toughest exams JEE. Once you clear the cutoff for JEE mains you will get an opportunity to write the JEE advance exam. After clearing the JEE advanced exam upon the ranks you will get different IITs and their departments. Other than JEE I took the Wbjee exam which is the joint entrance exam for W.B state.
