IIT Madras BS Degree Admissions 2026 Open

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has opened applications for its Bachelor of Science (BS) degree programmes for the May 2026 batch, offering direct admission pathways for JEE Advanced 2026 qualifiers.

Interested candidates must complete their applications by May 31, 2026, through the official portal at study.iitm.ac.in. The institute has clarified that all official communications regarding admissions will be sent to shortlisted students and parents through verified channels only.

IIT Madras BS programmes are open to anyone who has passed Class 12 or equivalent, regardless of age or academic background. However, JEE Advanced 2026 qualifiers receive a significant advantage through direct admission to the Foundation Level without undergoing the regular qualifier process.

This initiative democratizes access to IIT-quality education by offering flexible, interdisciplinary undergraduate programmes that can be pursued alongside other college degrees or professional commitments. The programmes span six academic levels with multiple exit options, allowing students to earn certificates, diplomas, or degrees based on their progress and credits completed.
