- Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs. ~ Akaash R, B.Tech

Placement Experience:
Campus placements start in the ending of first semister of fourth year for the 4-year undergraduate students. Campus placements happen every year in december for passing out students. Around 450+ companies visit for placements. The highest package was 1.3 crore per annum and average is around 19 lakhs per annum. Almost around 55% of students get placed and many people go for higher studies or go after chasing their passion or building their start ups. I wanted to work in the software industry after my graduation.

- The campus is vibrant with different states of students and their mindsets.
- The weather at IIT madras is so good .it has a wide variety of wildlife like deer ,monkeys and so many.
- The professors provide a full time guidance to the students who really need their help and support.

- some times i feel like students are facing work pressure and stress.
- The infrastructure at IIT madras can still be improved by redesigning the departments.
- These days the campus facing bad weather conditions due to summer.
Course Curriculum Overview:
the computer science curriculum at IIT madras is comprehensive ,blending foundational theory with modern applications,its highly relevant , equipping students with industry ready skills and innovative reasearch perspectives. faculty is qualified and also teach well.

- I like our Biotechnology department very much because the it is designed very well.
- The campus greenary steels everybodys heart.
- The campus is provided with wide variety of cafes, food courts aswell.

- Some times the weather conditions can put the students in risk
- More no of infrastructure redesigning can be done to lot of departments.
- There is one lake in the iit madras. I heared this so many times but want to see atleast once.

Placement Experience:
The students are eligible for the campus placements from the 7Th semester. Companies like Biogen, Genentech, and Novo Nordisk visit. As of now the placements are good for the biotechnology department. Incase the student did not get placed in campus, there so many chances that they can search for off campus placements.

- The professor are very knowledgeable if not very good at teaching. One can learn very much from there professors.
- The college administration treats you as if you're adult. You are free to leave campus/hostel whenever you want.
- The people around you are very smart and they push you to your limits. You will never be the smartest person in the room

- 75% criteria is a thing that sometimes create problems.

After 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement.you can look up at the official placement reports for exact numbers but mostly 80-90% of the batch gets placed. Highest package is 3.67crores and average is at 22lakhs per annum.

- The hostel and mess system being unfair in some ways
- The politics inside the institutes elections

Placements are usually really good in our college. So many people competing to join our college is usually for this reason. but for this last year, because of the economy, the placements wasn't that good. the highest package is around a crore. around 50 percent of students get placements usually but not last year

The institute has seen 50%+ placements this year. The average package is 40lpa and the highest is 1.4 crores. Many students opt to pursue higher education or research after completing their courses at the institute

- I like how the campus life replicates a real world society.
- The numerous opportunities available in almost field.
- The green environment built all around the campus.

- The north and south feeling among the students.
- Unhealthy competition students create around them.
- The way the elections don't care about worthy candidate.
Placement Experience:
The placements are very well taken care by the institute. Students sit for placements after 7th semester and before 8th semester. There is a student body from every department which takes care of students from their department.

- Our campus is surrounded with forest area, but it is good in mornings we can feel fresh air.
- They provide free bus service inside the institute.

- As it is forest area monkeys will be disturbing us.
- As Im living in chennai the climate is too hot so this afternoon classes will be boring
- political things elections will be held in our campus but there will no genune polling

placements are in 7th sem for btect students and 9th sem for dualdegree . offers will bw made after seeing over exam results for placement exams and resume we submit in that companies. More than 75 percentage people can get placed.

Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum in IIT madras is not too complicated, every branch here is unique and are mostly irrelevant to other. I personally chose civil engineering because I was very intrested in construction of things.

- The thing I liked most is the environment in the campus, campus is full of trees and animals, it gives very natural feel, as it is very greenery i like the environment of my campus

- Another thing is some irrelevant courses in my academics , there are just theory based courses which has no use in further life.
- Another thing i didn't like is politics which affects more during the selections of any sports team , like the who is selector selects the people whom they know rather than who is capable.
Placement Experience:
Placements in our college are quite good .
Students can apply according to their choices and interest in job profiles .
People can apply at the end of 3rd year means by the end of 6th semester.
Placement team works on these Placement session.
Many popular and high rated companies visit in our college like Google , Microsoft, jaguar, tata, and many more companies come to our campus.
Highest package in last ywar was 1.2 Cr something for the software job
Average for mechanical engineering is 12.1 LPA
So according to average salary placements are good .
Around 85 % from mechanical engineering got placement last year which is a good percentage
If I'll get good placement then I'll go with the job and if it'll be not as i expected then I'll prepare for CAT for the MBA course or I'll prepare for the UPSC .

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.
The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.
Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.
