Application process: Candidates typically apply online through the official website of the joint entrance examination. Candidates must have completed 12th to appear for jee. Only those who clear jee mains are eligible for jee advanced. The duration of the exam is typically 3 hours. Advance exam has two compulsory shifts of 3 hours each. Cutoff for the same is determined based on different factors like the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, and available seats. The cutoff changes annually and varies for different categories. Admission to IITs is solely based on performance in jee advance. The counseling process conducted by JoSAA, where students can select their preferred institute based on their ranks.
