- For guidance there are great professors and every one is very helping in nature in terms of guidance, doubt solving and there is no restriction for you in selecting any teacher to ask you do like.
- campus life will be great if you are an extrovert kind of person and like to interact with people and as a hindi speaker for me it is great that there i can improve my communication skills by talking with the native students who don't know hindi.
Dislikes
- if you are person who is purely vegiterian then i can say that you will not find veg food as good as your state's food. even in the restaurents you will not find variety except one or two dishes which also you will not find so good in taste.
- in attendance prospective teachers are very strict in this matter. there is a rule of min 80% attendance which means you can take maximum 6-8 leaves only. if you took more than this without any proper reason with certification then you have to repeat
Placement Experience:
Placements are quite good and in terms of placements, this college comes under the top 5 nits in India. after 4th semester students get opportunities to get internships and in internships, many companies offer PPO (pre-placement offer) to them. and after the 6th semester companies start coming for placements and till the fourth year many of them get placed just wait to get the degree. in 2023 companies like Atlassian, Barclays, Bharat Petroleum, Bharat Electronics, Accenture, bajaj, Axis Bank, etc offered a total of 1144 offers. in 2023 the highest package was 47 lakhs and the average was around 14.36 lakhs. 84.76% of total registered students got placed in 2023 placements. I will get job in the company related to robotics or i will study abroad for robotics and automation.

- The campus is big and the college has mostly every facility required to upgrade your cv and get good internships and placements
- The faculties are good and help you with any problems you are facing.
Dislikes
- This year we had our fests cancelled due to some reason. The campus isn't that active on an entertainment basis
- There's a language barrier for people coming from other parts of India, not just in campus but if you need anything else too.

The placements are fine . Since it is an NIT, it automatically boosts your CV and helps in getting off campus placements and internships. The campus placements are fine by NIT standards. There are a lot of other opportunities

- Great infrastructure,Nit Calicut provides great infrastructure which gives the ambience and mood for extracurricular activities as well as studying
- Library is very big and has a large number of books in wide variety of genres

- Sports is very bad or infact not given enough importance in the campus we have a strong set of athletes in our campus but are not using their full potential
- Freedom of expression is almost nullified we as the student body have no noise,recently

Placements in Nit Calicut is one of the best in India.This year has shown a very big spike in the recruitments from a variety of national and international companies offering very good packages.IT fields are holding up with core fields in terms of internships and campus placements

- The events being conducted are decreasing
- The hostel facilities are not good and need improvement
Placement Experience:
Placements of my college are good. The placement season starts at the end of third year. Companies like tcs , microsoft , google come to recruit from our college with good packages. 1000+ offers were offered to students in 2023. The highest package was about 50 lack and average was about 13 lack in 2023. The percentage of studenys getting placed is 88%. My plans after getting degree is to secure a good placement with good package and gain some experience in the industry.

Placements here in nit calicut were fine enough.the averahge packages is around 12 lakhs.80 to 85 percent people are getting placements every year.the highest package here in nit calicut last year is 61 lakhs offered by google.

Many students got job through campus placement process. Many companies visiting every year for recruiting students in various technical fields. Almost all students(90-100 ?) are placed during this process.

- The location of NIT Calicut. It is filled with green and under the lap of western ghats
- The TBI cell which helped us for the building of our startup.

- The food was not good according to me, but there were many options.
- The chemical department was far and newly build.

There were placement cell which used to help the students in internship and jobs. I graduated in 2021 so the number of companies were bit less in core departnment. The average salary for chemical branch was 7.8Lakhs

- I like the fest and cultural events which are organised in NIT Calicut such as tatva and Ragam
- I also like the hostel and mess facilities here

What is your review of the National Institute of Technology Calicut?
My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-
- The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
- There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
- The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
- There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
- During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.
NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
