Engineering Physics at NIT Calicut : Academics, Campus life and opportunities

Fees and Financial Aid:

Tution Fee is based on income criteria. If annual family income is greater than 5 lakh, students will have to pay 125000 per annum. if its between 1 lakh and 5 lakh, the fee will be 1/3 rd of 125000 and for students with their family income less than 1 lakh complete waiver on tution fee is available. Apart from that students have to pay Rs.4792 at beginning of monsson semester and Rs.1950 at beginning of winter semester which comprise of all other fee including exam fees, interent fee, sports fees, computing centre fee and student activities fee. At the joing time for the course students have to pay a one time caution deposit of Rs.15000 which is refundable.

Admission fee involves fees to the JOSAA authorities(1 lac 75k). Btech: Tuition fees in college for general/obc (above 5 lakh income) = 75.5k General/obc (1-5 lakh) = 33834 General/obc(less rhan 1 lac) /sc/st = 13k B.arch: General/obc(above 5 lac) = 80.5k General/obc(1-5 lac) = 38834 General/obc(less than 1 lac)/sc/st = 18k. Lots of scholarship opportunities for female students, sc st students, low income students. Huge number of scholarships are available. Not many scholarships for general male with above 5 lac income.

NIT Calicut, the fit option for your Engineering Life

Sometimes, administration lacks in providing proper service. Many of my collegemates have complained about delays in fee related issues being resolved.

Student Snaps:

I paid about 125000+Extras of about 50k for caution deposit and such, in the first year. Second year onwards, around 72000. For each annual family income slab, there is a certain discout in fees. For Annual incomes of 1 lakh to 5 lakh, students only pay 30% of the fees I believe. For annual incomes less than 1 lakh, tuition fees is completely waivered. There are plenty of scholoarships here at NITC for students with lower economical backgrounds, as well as students with reservations. For example, for native students of Kerala, Kerala government provides the E-GRANTZ scholarship for SC and ST students, waivering the hostel fees, if im not wrong.

Everything About NIT calicut

The major bad thing about national institute of technology is the hike in fees in every year. The course costs around 10 lakhs for four year. Institute doesn't provide scholarships to students. The fee hike makes the students feel bad

Attendance... actually we need have 80 % of attendance to write end sem exam

Actually here fee structure will be different for different people they are some students from other countries joining through dasa and some from same state and from other states.there will be scholarship for st students yearly from other state and there will be Kerala state scholarship for st students and fee structure is also different for people with bad economic background like below 5 laks and below one lakh

NITC is worth it

The tuition fee is 125000 per year for students with annual income above 5 lpa, two third of the tuition fee is omitted for those with annual income between 1-5 lpa and the whole tuition fee is omitted for those with income below 1 lpa. There are also many scholarships available for financially backward students. Loan facilities are available. The university has a high placement rate with good packages.

The college provided Scholarship opportunity to.Many of the students prefer National scholarship program (NSP).And some other students prefer reliance scholarship.After applying for the scholarship college will be verifying our application further to the ministry level.There will be hostel fees of 66000 and tution fees of 125000.

Bit insights of NIT CALICUT

There are 8 semesters in B.Tech courses and for General whose family income is more than 5 Lack per annum has to pay 67000 per semester. If income falls under 1 to 5 Lack then around 23000 per semester, and if income falls under 1 Lack then around 5000 per semester. I am not availing any scholarship or financial assistance but many of my friends are, and it's very helpful and convenient for them to avail of all such schemes.
