Course Curriculum Overview
I am interested in physics research and hence i chose this course. It gets harder and harder gradually to set up research based mentality. One must be really determined to make it through all 4 years.
Internships Opportunities
My college offers lots of summer internship programs. In 1st year it is not that prominent but 2nd year onwards we observe inter as well as intra college internships. College professors also encourage students a lot. Project topics cary from time to time as each project has different topic.
Placement Experience
My branch is not an industry placement oriented branch. But placements are offered for higher studies into famed foreign institutes. I plan to pursue MS and PhD from abroad in quantum and theoretical physics.
Fees and Financial Aid
Admission fee involves fees to the JOSAA authorities(1 lac 75k). Btech: Tuition fees in college for general/obc (above 5 lakh income) = 75.5k General/obc (1-5 lakh) = 33834 General/obc(less rhan 1 lac) /sc/st = 13k B.arch: General/obc(above 5 lac) = 80.5k General/obc(1-5 lac) = 38834 General/obc(less than 1 lac)/sc/st = 18k. Lots of scholarship opportunities for female students, sc st students, low income students. Huge number of scholarships are available. Not many scholarships for general male with above 5 lac income.
Campus Life
There are numerous student clubs. Ranging from music, drama, arts to robotics, technology, aerospace engineering. There are yearly 2 major college fests, alongside numerous other small ones. Apart from the exam week, the campus is always thriving of live. Students are constantly encouraged to be a part of some activity and are given credits for the same.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are all very nice. They serve both north indian and south indian with tons of variety. Non veg and veg both are provided every day. Usually we get only one serving of non veg but we can get more by paying more. We also get many options of caterers to choose from.
Admission
My dream college was EP in IIT Bombay. I couldn't make it into top 7 IITs because my JEE advance rank was not good enough. NITC was my next best alternative and I am thankful for it. It aligns with my dreams and hopes.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is approx 1:40. Faculty is very approachable and friendly. Classes involve indeoth discussion about every topic and all teachers are open to discussion via whatsapp or mai. Faculty i really liked is Dr. Sayani Chatterjee (thermodynamics). She makes the class very lively and enthusiastic. She also solves every doubt of students. There are total 5 exams for each subject. 1 midsem, 2 quizzes, 1 endsem. Midsem and quizzes are very easy. Endsem needs good knowledge but it is still very doable. Course curriculum is very interesting and relatable if the student is interested in physics research line.
Interview Experience
The admission was based on JEE examination only and there was no GD or interview. No gd. No gd. No gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no gd no
Night Life
1st year intime is 9:30pm but 2nd year onwards there are not restrictions. Hence every facility except shops are open 24×7. Going outside or inside campus is restricted after a certain time, but beyond that time it is free to enter or exit. Students frequently hang out in classroom buildings, canteens, etc.
