College has a lot of clubs for focusing on different sectors. There are mathematics club, robotics Interest club, Team unwired for automobiles and a lot more. These help students to develop things skills
One of the best things about my college is the professionalism of faculties and their experience. They are highly qualified and friendly to students.
College promotes sports and arts in addition to the academics which is highly appreciated

Dislikes

National Institute of Technology calicut lacks efficient bus service which makes the transportation across the campus difficult. And the bus is always too much crowded for students which makes them late to classes
Water shortage is a serious problem for National institute of Technology calicut. They have to cut down lecture time to tackle this problem. This makes students feel really uncomfortable . This is to be reviewed
National institute of Technology Calicut has heavy rain fall during monsoon which makes the day to day activities difficult and may cause severe flooding in surroundings. Humidity is also highly during these time

Curriculum is updated in 2023 which is well structured covering both foundation and advanced fields. Curriculum ensures theoretical understanding along with practical knowledge. Including soft skill training will make the curriculum even more valuable in current times. Exams are conducted in every month. There are midsem exam and end sem exam. Exam difficulty is hard

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities provided in National Institute of Technology calicut are really good. It is open to students from second year onwards. The companies provide some projects to students and give stipends to the selected.

Placement Experience

Students of eighth semester can appear in placements. Companies like google, BPCL, oracle,CAT hire students for good packages. Last year(2023) highest package was 47 lakhs and average was 10 lakhs. Around 80 percentage of the students get placed in placements. I wish to get a good placement from here

Fees and Financial Aid

The major bad thing about national institute of technology is the hike in fees in every year. The course costs around 10 lakhs for four year. Institute doesn't provide scholarships to students. The fee hike makes the students feel bad

Campus Life

Campus life at national institute of technology calicut is vibrant and dynamic. There are cultural festivals like Ragam and Technological Festival like Tathva here which is highly popular and spectacular. Clubs run by students play a significant role in enhancing campus life. These clubs arrange a number of activities in campus Sports facilities of National institute of Technology calicut is top notch. Library is also vast and has wide range of resources

Hostel Facilities

There are separate hostels for each years. Hostel is average with wifi facilities nad some indoor sports facilities. Meal is above average and we can have wide variety of meals from different places in India. Hostel admission is through hostel app of NITC.

Hostel Fee: INR 18000 per year

Admission

Admission is based on joint entrance examination marks. One can apply to National institute of Technology calicut through Josaa website. There are reservations for OBC,SC,ST,EWS,PWD students and special reservations for females. Admission process is fast and transparent

The professors at national institute of technology calicut are highly qualified and bring wealth of experience making the institution a premier one. Most of the faculty members here hold Ph.D degrees from premier institutes all across the world.They have several Years of experience which makes them very useful for students

An honest college review

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester students become eligible for placements. The top recruiters in it sectors are Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Tata Elxsi, Accenture, Oracle, Amazon, Wipro, UST GLOBAL, IBM. The top recruiters in other sectors are Mu Sigma, Ernst and young,, federal Bank, h and r block. Most of the placement are in it and related sectors. The average package is 4 to 6 lpa.The highest package is 34 lpa in Amazon. In 2024, 35 percent of students got placed. I will look to get campus placement in a reasonable package or I will try to get jobs by other means.

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

They provide placement packages from a minmum of 4lpa to 12 lpa.. But most of the students got 4 lpa packages, it is very difficult to crack higger packages, but most of the cs students got placement andd students of other departments palcement is not good.

While assured placement is offered to students with minimal or no backlog papers, others are also placed, albeit with comparatively lower annual packages. I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college. Accordind to NIRF rankings this is the top 27 Engineering college in India and top 3rd NIT. Admission process is only through JEE Mains Exam. You need very good percentile to join this college. Nit Calicut very good placements too....Read More
