Delhi University: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 5 Reviews

The college maintains a faculty-to-student ratio of 1:40, ensuring personalized attention and fostering a strong student-faculty relationship built on respect. The institution operates on a semester system, with two exams each year and a high passing rate of 99%. Faculty members are approachable, although there's some concern about the emphasis on academics over creativity. The college provides placements in the 3rd and 4th years, achieving a 100% placement rate, with an average salary package of 9.5 lakh.

However, placements mainly benefit students with commerce backgrounds, as companies look for business skills. Internships are available monthly, online and offline, but often require payment. Collaborations with NGOs and companies like Dell enhance internship experiences. Several scholarships are offered, including those from the National Scholarship Program by the Government of India, Mt Manmohan Nath Dhar book grant, and Rajbhasa, which awards Rs. 75,000. Financial aid up to Rs. 50,000 is accessible for students from low-income families.

The fee structure is uniform across categories, with exceptions for financially weaker students. For example, the annual fee for a Bachelor of Arts Sociology Honours at Hindu College is Rs. 25,265, while Miranda House charges Rs. 13,500 annually, excluding a Rs. 2,000 exam fee. The total cost for a 4-year program is around Rs. 52,000, with fees paid yearly, not per semester. Students also cover exam form-filling fees.

Fees and Financial Aid:

At LSR, the best thing is the fees that they charge for any course. BA, BSC all have almost the same fees like for BA Sociology Hons which is mine, the fees is 22000 a year. This includes tuition fees and other surcharges. Just exam fees has to be paid seperately for each semester and that is around 3000 per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The year wise fees of my college is Rs13500 excluding the examination fees of Rs 2000 which is collected from the students one month before the commencement of the exam. The students belonging to categories such as SC and ST are give leverage in their fee payments. The students have to fill in their categories they belong to in the cuet application form only and according to that they are given the due benefits. The students belonging to economically weaker section are also given scholarships from the college.

Fees and Financial Aid:

My course is for 3 yrs and in 1st yr i paid 10,000 then in 2nd yr i paid 11000 and for 3rd year i paid 12000. It was increasing by 1000 every year. Any other extra fee they take is for examination form which is 1000- 1500, every semester depending on different subjects. Fees for every catefory among my batchmates is the same. A lot of scholarship programs are available for people from weaker sections but i don't know much about it as I'm not eligible.

The year wise fees is around 13500, other than that we fill our exam form which cost around 1000 every semester. So, the sum yearly fees is around 15500. There are scolarships for the low income group students and I don't have proper knowledge about that.

Fees and Financial Aid:

I completed my graduation from Hindu college, university of delhi. I opted for the course Bachelors of Art [sociology honors].My college fee was around 17000 anually for my course. Apart from this we had to a sum of 600-700 for our semester exam. My college stands among the top5 colleges of delhi and it has maimtained its position since a long time now. Inspite of being a prestigious college, my fee was comparatively much affordable than many other colleges of delhi. We did not had to pay any other development fees or compulsory charges apart from this. There is a slight change in the fee structute of different course but it dosent vary much. There are also scholarships and reservations as well.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Ok so the year wise fees vary course to course , for my course i.e BA socio it was 26800 , it's for General but for SC , ST there are some concessions maybe around 26300 something like that , the difference is meagre , moreover for the BSC courses the fees structure is different and is comparatively higher than the BA ones cuz that involves variety of lab work and other work catering to their discipline . Although scholarship of various kinds are provided by the DU but the one provided by my college is RAJBHARGAVA scholarship that offers 75k Ruppees to 12 students from the 1st year , 2nd and 3rd years after a test and PI is conducted involving other stages that summates to the MAT .... besides this there are other scholarships which I'M AWARE of Dr BM bhatia scholarship i.e 6000 to a student attaining maxi marks in ba economics hons , there was SAROJ BALA MALIK SCHOLARSHIP of 15000 to 2 students of BSC 3rd year on the basis of merit cum , just like that there are scholarships for different departments specifically like for History and Chemistry etc ..... as someone who's new to college I'm aware of these much but I feel this suffice and caters to the topic well ......

Fees and Financial Aid:

When I enrolled in the Bachelor's programme at Bharati College, the total fee for the entire course of three years was somewhat around 21,000. From which we had to pay an approximate of 7,000 per year. It feels worth mentioning that this amount does not cover the examination fees as it has to be paid separately. As far as I am aware, there was no fee waiver in this college. None of my classmates were the beneficiary of any scholarship.

Fees for BA Sociology which is slightly out of favour branch is close to 25k. For category students like one of my SC friend pays just 9000 and that is how it is. Beti Padhai scholarship is the one for toppers as top five students get full 100% scholarship every year.
