Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is a central university located in New Delhi. Established in 1920, the university is recognized by the UGC and accredited with an ‘A’ grade by the NAAC. Jamia Millia Islamia is ranked 12^th for Architecture and 4^th for BBA by IIRF 2025. JMI has several research centers, including the Center for Management Studies, the Nelson Mandela Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution, and the AJK Mass Communication Research Center.

Jamia Millia Islamia admission usually begins in the month of April, every year. The admission process is completely online for all courses. Candidates need to register on the official website of the university. Admission to most of the UG, PG, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and PhD programs is based on the entrance exam conducted by the university. B.Tech from jmi is value for money, best option for middle class

Likes

Campus life is amazing, and there is very greenary.
Faculties are well qualified with doctorate degree.
Girls to boys ration is good because it is a central university, it offers various courses so it is good

Dislikes

Lack of internship opportunities and less active placement cell
Problem in issuing the NOC for internship if u are getting the internship off campus
Old curriculum and again and again exams.

Student view on course curriculum

course curriculum is old in my clg , it should be improved, and teaching methods are good, frequency of exams are high, there are 2 sessional and one end sems exams , i think there should be 1 sessional exam.

Internship opportunity provided by the college

There are lack of internship opportunities in jmi. and if the student get the internship from off campus then they create a problem in issuing the NOC certificate. from this year they allow some 2 -3 companies for internship in campus like optum, accenture, cdot etc.

Top company recruiting from the campus , average and highest package

from 7th semester students are eligible for campus placement companies visited are: Optum, Accenture, HSBC, Zenon, Zia Semiconductor, RSM, Axiom, ZS , HLS, CDOT highest package is 40 LPA which was given by Microsoft in 2018 and highest package currently is 25 lpa on campus average package is 8 lpa currently in cse branch 70 percentage placed right now batch 2025 i want to do job after degree

Yearly fees structure and scholarship

latest course fee structure 16350 1st year fee 13550 2nd year fee 13800 3rd year fee 13500 4th year fee ( expecting) this is in including tuition fee, caution fee, registration fee, admission fee, development fee, lab fee extra now hostel fee 38550 per year . scholarships available are AAJMI Scholarship, APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship etc

College fest and various activities

There are various fests which usually occurs in jmi like zephyr, enconium, etc. there are various books available in Library and easily accessable. facilities of ac ,wifi, smart board etc available in classroom sports and extra curricular activities are very good in our college.

Hostel facilities provided by the college

in one room there are 3 students in every hostel. and wifi is 24x7 available, there are study table for each student and beds for each student and seperate cupboard for each student. in one week sweeper comes in room to clean the room. good breakfast and lunch and dinner available veg and non veg both available for muslim there are special facility in Ramadan months but to get the hostel in jmi is a big concern. There are very less hostels in jmi, number of hostels should be increased. registration forms are released for hostel accommodation. locality is batla house , zakir nagar , shaheen bagh , sukhdev vihar for rent room or pg

Student views on the faculty and exams

faculty to student ratio is good. faculties are very soft nature and helping nature. They are very easily approachable and we can usually do message on WhatsApp or can do call whenever required on right time. There are 2 sessional exams and end semester exams in one semester

Admission process of the college

I applied for various colleges like aligarh muslim university, and i also filled the josaa councelling and applied for NiTs or IIITs but i chose this college because of various factors like fee is very less as compared to other colleges and location is very good new delhi and it near to my home town. and placement are also above average. no I didn't get the rejection from other colleges i was getting the different branch in very good nits and was getting the required branch cse in average nits and the fee is also a major concern so i select this one. the admission process is simple, u have to give the jee main exam and u have to fill the separate JMI registration form and when cutt of release by JMI, you can check on the website of jmi

Night Life

Night out are very good specially in boys hostel, we can go anywhere in night and also can come in night and can talk in various spots in campus. there are also gym facility available in hostel and special gym for sports students. hostel timings are 24x7 campus timing is 8 am to 10 pm usually

I have many options to choose a college but there are very high fees to courses and I not affordable to this course so I can choose this College and there are ranking are better than other colleges in my preference. And the admission process are easy simple fill the form on website jmi.coe.in and when the selected candidates list are released on website they come to all required documents to take admission.

Campus is super beautiful - a blend of calm and culture - green spaces , a well equipped library and labs that support learning

Dislikes

Old infrastructure needs to be renovated. Clean drinking water is basic neccesity so all the water coolers should be fixed around the campus

Admission:

I applied to a few reputed universities for my bsc -including JMI, DU, AMU. I received admission offers from amu and Jamia, but missed out on top colleges in DU due to slightly higher cutoff marks and subject combination

I started my master's in Chandigarh University before joining Jamia. We have to clear an entrance for JMI. In comparison, it is much better than Chandigarh University. The fee for Jamia is around 16000 for the course , whereas it's around 1.5 lakh there. Then comes the professors. They are much experienced and better in Jamia. The study material, syllabus everything is based on entrances and deep knowledge of the subject here in Jamia.

Experience of B.VOC food production from the DTHM, in words of a freshers.

Admission:

I didn't apply to any other college and neither did i try to do that, i liked jamia millia islamia and i got into the bba distance course first and this b.voc food production course was going to die but don't know why in the end they decided not to actually end it. The requirements were 45%+ in boards exam and an entrance exam for the course, the cutoff was at 74% before they did the whole drama of ending the course but after they brought it back they made the cut off at 50% at which point whoever was above that mark in entrance exam could get in. The exam was a little easier than the othet entrance exam i gave of the courses from the same deptt. It consisted of general knowledge, maths and English portions

this was my first preference because it is the college where i want to go to do this course ,...it is the most popular for that course that i am doing means mass communication...it is second best to do this course the first one is not convenient for my pocket so i choose the second best to do so.the m.a. in mass communication at JMI...offers a robust curriculum full of energy under the guidence of best .

The faculty of department of political science of JMI is one the best in the country and the diversity of students from different parts is one of the major aspect of choosing this college.You have to give a entrance test for this course. The admission process is very simple.

Jamia Millia Islamia has an overall 50% Muslim quota. It comprises the following:

30% General Muslim quota
10% Muslim OBC and Scheduled Tribe quota
10% Muslim Women quota
3% seats in all programs shall be reserved for Physically Challenged persons.
5% seats in all programs shall be filled by the internal students of Jamia. (Students graduating from Jamia schools).

To be frank, none of the institutes you mentioned are worth joining for an MBA. Jamia is a bad choice for MBA and is likely a tier III institution while Jaipuria is probably tier IV. Jamia Millia Islamia average package for MBA 2022 is INR 8.8 LPA while Jaipuria Institute of Management's average package (2021-2023) is INR 12.34 LPA. The ROI offered is extremely low considering the fact that the cost of an MBA program is almost double the pay package you receive.

MBA is best taught at tier-1 and tier-2 colleges like IIM AND FMS. If you go for an average B School you will end up with a useless degree and a loan to repay.

However, if you are left with only these two options, then Jamia is still a better choice than Jaipuria as the fees charged are less.

For admission into the 5-year law program at Jamia, you must first sit for their entrance exam- ‘JMI BA LLB 2024’. The application form for the same is released on the official website jmicoe.in

This year, the entrance exam was held on May 11, 2024. The entrance exam contains 150 questions on legal ability, legal language (English), Maths, Current Events and General Studies. To be eligible for the exam, you must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% of marks in core subjects and English.

You must have done 10+2 with at least 50% marks in aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The admissions are based on scores of the Admission Test conducted by AMU. Aligarh Muslim University follows a common application Process for all the courses offered at the UG and PG levels. The application form can be filled out online by following the steps below:

Visit the University website www.amucontrollerexams.com.
Candidate should then register online and provide his / her correct and functional email because the username and password, etc., will be sent to this email.
Candidates should register only once to apply to multiple courses.
After registering candidate should log in using his/her username and password. The dashboard of the candidate will be available to him/her for filling out the form.
The candidate should fill his/her Profile carefully. Click on the Save option.
After saving the Profile, the candidate will be asked to review and confirm that the particulars entered are correct.
The candidate will not be able to edit/update his/her Profile after confirmation. If a candidate finds any mistake in his/her Profile after confirmation, then he/she will have to re-register with a different Username and Password to complete all the entries afresh.
Candidates should fill in details of his/her educational qualifications by providing the name of all examinations passed, including the qualifying examination, year of passing, Examination Roll No., the University/Board from which they were passed, and the percentage/CGPA obtained.

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) does not offer lateral-entry admission into its Bachelor's in Information Technology (B.Tech or similar) programs, which include admissions into the second year for diploma holders. The Faculty of Engineering & Technology at JMI conducts admissions to its B.Tech programs (like Computer Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering (Data Sciences), etc.) based on JEE-Main scores and counseling, and no lateral entry route is available. JMI’s Centre for Distance and Open Learning (CDOL) does offer a one-year Certificate in Information Technology, but this is a distance/correspondence course, not a B.Tech or lateral entry pathway.
