Exploring Jamia Millia Islamia: a Student's Perspective on Education and Campus culture

JMI btech computer engineering course curriculum is up to date and comprehensive it focuses on practical skills, provide research and innovation oppurcunities, it provides industry relevant training and global exposure as it have ties with many international institutions, this prepares you for real world problems and application. The area of improvement which i want to address is pressure and rigorous workload this lead to significant academic pressure and lack of specialized electives or options to dive deeply into certain cutting edge areas like AI or data science compared to specialized institutions, exams are spaces out with regular assessment, mid semester exams occured around 8 or 9 week of semester, end semester exams occur after 2 weeks of semester and difficulty of JMI BTech cse course is considered challenging but manageable with consist efforts and hard work ,

JMI has a central placement cell (CPC) and individual department placement cells that help students in finding interships in their respective fields JMI has a strong network with corporate partners and MNCs like TCS , IOC ,Google and Bajaj. many students opt for summer internships during the vacation months ( may to july )these internships may last from 4 to 8 weeks. some interships offer stipends or monetary compensation espicially in corporate and research internship TCS , IOC, Bajaj , amazon , zomato,etc companies provide internship of roles like software developer intern , data analyst intern ,cybersecurity intern

Students are eligible for campus palcements from 6th semester however most companies require minimum student CGPA Many companies like amazon,microsoft, adobe , tcs ,infoys ,tech mahindra , ola swiggy , zomato, flipkart ,paytm etc visited campus for placement drives. The highest package is 60 LPA by atlassian, while the lowest was 3 LPA by tcs and infosys in 2023, 85-90% students get placement in various companies. after getting degree i will start my own startup with my college colleague and would like to involved in some social work in education

Annual tuition fee for btech cse at JMI is approximately INR 10000 to 15000, this is core fee for academics instruction, development fee is arounf INR 5000 to 7000 per year, students are required to pay examination fees for each semester the fee is generally INR 1000 to 2000 depending on number of papers appered for, Hostel fee is typically INR 15000 to 30000 per year depending on type of accomodation, caution fee of INR 2000 to 5000 is usually collected at time of admission, lab fees is 1000 to access university labs , other miscellaneous fees like student welfare , sports ,medical and other activities lies in range of INR 2000 to 3000 Jamia merit scholarship provides ypto INR 10000 for excellent academic performance , obc, sc ,st student can also avail scholarship under specific government schemes

Spandan is annual cultural festival , techfest is techinal festival of university focuses on engineering and innovatiom Dr. zakir hussain library is situated in jamia campus it have vareity of foreign authors books and extensive, large collection of indian books icluding books on science, arts , religion , history, economics and sports sports facilities in jmi is very good have separate clubs for every sports like cricket , football, tennis etc , many extracurriculum activities also occur in university almost every month Jamia student solidarity group is famous ngo run by students primarily focused on social justice , human rights and various community human development

I choose Jamia millia islamia university because JMI is central university so fees here is INR 13000 to 15000 which is very affordable with average package of 10 to 11 lakhs per annum in BTech computer science course, i had applied to delhi university and aligarh muslim university and i got selected in both institutions but in AMU,I did not got my desired course and in delhi university the placements were not as good as compared to JMI in btech cse. The JMI accepts admission through jee main examination, the student need to scode above 98 percentile to get admission in jmi btech compuetr science branch, student should score above 75 percentage in cbse class 12 board examination with pcm as core subjects, after clearing cutoff counseling and seat allotment occur at JMI admission offfice by physical reporting

faculty to student ratio is 18:1 it may vary on deparment to de[partment or course to course. faculty members are approachable and supportive, many faculties maintain open office hours, are willing to discuss academic issues and provide guidance when needed. Dr moonis shakeel sir is very cooperative and supportive for my academic related issues. there is 4 exams in one semester 2 mid semester exams 1 end semester exam and 1 end semester practical exam, about 4 to 6 student out of 45 student fail to pass the exam and course curriculum is very much relevant for modern day IT industries

Gym typically open from 6:00am to 9:00pm on weekdays closed on sunday and specific holidays Library open from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm on weekdays close on sunday and specific holidays Cafeteria operates from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm public areas like lawns, amphitheaters open 24/7 boys hostel entry time is 10:00 pm and girls hostel time 9:00 pm however it may extend to some more hours on weekends JMI is situated in central delhi there is very good metro connectivity and various places for visit like india gate , red fort , jama masjid , famous markets of delhi and many more places . locality is very safe for roaming
