Course Curriculum Overview

3

I would rate the course curriculum 7.5/10 I chose this course because it was giving me a chance to choose among 5 subjects - maths, geography, computer science, chemistry, physics Lab work yes, helps build intellectual skills and curriculum helps you build in quantitative mindset needed to succeed There are one main exam per semester

Campus Life

3

Jamia hosts a variety of fests, both technical, and cultural .economics departement ecofest , talimi mela, zavier fest and all the other departmental fests usually held in feb march dr zakir hussain library is very peaceful to study one of the best places on campus -also best stocked and resouceful

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel accomadation began by december while i secured a seat in august itself . So it got a lttle diificult for me . room is nice spacious with 3 seater food was ok we use to get veg and non veg both .the quality was not great but decent. seats are very much limited this is one issue and hostel is at a 1.5 km away distance from collge

Admission

I applied to a few reputed universities for my bsc -including JMI, DU, AMU. I received admission offers from amu and Jamia, but missed out on top colleges in DU due to slightly higher cutoff marks and subject combination

Faculty

4

The faculty -to student ratio is fairly comfortable -classes never felt overcrowded and professors were approacable both in and outside lecture hours. I particularly like Dr. Rajnish sir and Dr. Khalid Raza, our cs faculty, very suporrtve and excellent faculty there were few faculties i feel less connected with who lacked engagement making learning feel mechanical. The Bsc curriculum is well struvtured and relevent but yes talking about marking it was fair but strict too . Internal marks mattered , so regularity pays off . Students did fail aroung 10-15% students struggled mostly in mathematics subjects

Night Life

3

Jamia has a quite and grounded nightlife - hostel timings are till 10 pm zakir hussain librrary closes by 8 pm while others are a bt relaxed and can be availed till 12 pm for hangout sopts we have central canteen a best chai spot with quick snacks dastarkhan women working canteen

Other Applied Colleges

Aligarh Muslim University - [AMU] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Computer Application)

I chose JMI over AMU because Delhi offered wider exposure , better opportunities , and a more dynamic environment. It was more feasible logistically . Also being in the capital opened doors to view life with clarity and focus on personal growth

Acharya Narendra Dev College - [ANDC], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Biomedical Sciences)
Reviewed on Mar 3, 2026(Enrolled 2024)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course Biomedical Sciences is very interesting as well as challenging, it covers various fields of sciences and has great scope in terms of research. The course connects theory with real world applications in hospitals and research laboratories. A few examples would include, antibacterial testing, PFT, EMG, blood tests, which are commonly performed in hospitals. The course also helps us to pursue our hands in research further by providing us with hands on training for skills such as biostatistics, writing scientific literature, lab skills, etc. A few improvements that I would suggest is the removal of outdated testing methods and practicals from the curriculum that are not essential for the real world currently. The teaching methods are quite good and interesting. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester and are relevant to the curriculum. The practical exams test your knowledge of hands on experience that you've gained while doing lab work. Theory exams are of 3 hours as per usual and test your theoretical knowledge from books and classes mainly.

Placement Experience:

The average placements is around 5 to 6 lpa. However, a lot students here prefer masters and so a very few take placements, we have a entreprenuerial lab here which allows students to start their own startups and a lot of companies do visit in campus and hire students also. However, my plans would be pursuing for post grad entrance exams if I did'nt get placement.
