The college and its fun

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

Specific aspects of choosing the course was the love and passion towards nature and plants with environment. The faculty and students should allowed to play all together and try to spend time with each other. In this way a student and faculty will have a good bonding and connection. The area of improvement in course curriculum and teaching methods are very good and likely to get better. The frequency and timings of exam along with perspective on their difficulties level are moderate level and provide each types of questions and try to solve each question with little amount of answers correct.

Yearly fees structure of the course and scholarship

Year 2023-2024 :rs.20000/- per year and for year 2024-2025:rs.20000/- per year, the tution fee: rs.1200/-, caution fees: rs.150/-, registration fees: rs. 1025/-, admission fees: rs. 250/-, development fees: rs. 750/-, lab fees: rs. 7500/-, exam fees:rs. 5000/-, utility fees: rs. 750/- , extra curricular activities fees: rs.500/-, magazine fees: rs. 250/-, library card fees: 250/-, admission processing fees: rs. 250/- The fees of my batchmate is similar to mine. No scholarship received up till now.

Various events and sports of the college

The names of the annual festivals, are that diwali, holi, onam, Ganesh chaturthi, Durga Puja, christmas etc. we get access to all the books and magazines to read and are allowed to take it at the home. We used to play badminton, volleyball , football and basketball all together. We also play cricket , khokho, hide and seek.we all together like to pass our time with the help of playing indoor games. Chess, ludo, snake and ladder, dharmshras, unoo, etc. love to play all the ground as well as the board games. Considerable all the time spent over here with our batchmates would not be coming again so try and look forward to do such things together and be grateful to God as he blessed us with the most inspiring and empowering people in our life.
Campus

What are facilities available in the college hostel?

Water, wifi, food, hot water, television are the things which are provided by the hostel. The meal here are not good as some time the foods are not cooked properly and the stomach ache starts to pain. For registration you should visit the hostel and try to fulfill the requirements which is necessary. The locality is good as it's nearby the college and provided every services are here to catch to. It's a remote place and easy to get things from nearby shops. It's very good and great time to live here and have fun al together.

Faculty and examination pattern of the college

It's like the ratio of faculty to students is 8:10. The staff and students love to help each other and share things which we don't know. If the student is doing wrong will be thought or corrected by the faculty. The best faculty of the college would be botany department teachers without whom I would not being succeeded. The exams are 10 as written and practical. Both together gives out of 100 marks in which you have to get 40% marks to pass the exam so that one can get admission henceforth. Few students were not able to pass the exam but they tried well and passed the re- exam after which they were also happy.

What is the admission process of the campus?

College apply was mithibai and college which I got confirmed was st. Xavier's College, mumbai. This college have a good structure and feels like that I am studying some where out of the country. No I didn't got any rejection from the college which I applied. I don't want to go there as it was far away from my hostel and would not be able to get a hostel nearby in urgent basis. Nothing went wrong. To fill the Mumbai University form then proceed with the college form. Eligibility criteria is 80% and above is required to clearly get the seat. The interview takes place very smoothly. Nothing much time would be required to know that you have been selected or not.

Various hangout places nearby campus

The areas nearby the college campus have eating places, book stalls, stationary shop and marine drive. The McDonald's, CCD, chai sutta bar, Starbucks etc . YW hostel and 7pm last time to enter in this hostel. The hostel person if comes late will get a punishment that you have to take a night out For a day.

Admission:

I applied to IIM Indore, St. Xavier's mumbai, TAPMI Manipal and I had given CET exam to apply for colleges in Mumbai. I did not clear the IPMAT exam as I prepared only for 2 months, so I didn't make it to iim indore. St. Xavier's being one of the top colleges in India was my next choice. I also got into TAPMI Manipal but I chose Xavier's over it as the ROI was better. For admission in Xavier's you've to clear the Xavier's Entrance Test (XET) for BMS, BMM and BSC-IT. Post which you'll get a call if your name is in the merit list. Rest of the process is done in the college itself, where you'll be asked to submit your documents and fill out some forms. It is a quite easy and smooth process.

In my opinion, the admission process for St. Xavier's College was pretty smooth and the portal worked well when I applied. This was the only college I had applied for, after a while I was thinking of applying to Ramnarain Ruia College and Jai Hind College but then I got accepted in Xavier's so there was no need to apply to the other colleges. The parameters on which they select students was purely based on merit, with a few exceptions for minority quotas. Xavier's has a a larger minority quota for Christian students, as it is a Jesuit institution. The cutoffs range at around 95% for Arts and around 90% for Science.

I had gotten 86.4 percentage in my 12th board exams, hence, I had gotten into most of the colleges I had applied to. but One thing that stood out about xavier's was the course curriculum brochure and it's location in Mumbai, the media hub of India. I had applied to two colleges in Kerala which provided a similar course, including, Mar Ivanios College and St. teresa's college. Xavier's has a slightly different way of admission for self financed courses including BAMCJ. There is a entrance exam named Xavier's enterance test that every aspiring student has to attempt. Admission is given according to the merit in that exam. the exam fee is 2000 rupees. once the merit list is out the student has to come to the college to take admission. the orientation and classes will start soon after the merit list is out.
