The college crowd is amazing. Students from all over India come to this college.
The faculty is top-notch. Most of the teachers are very nice and understanding, and they teach quite well. They're well qualified, with degrees from reputed universities.
The college life is very vibrant, with fests and extra curricular activities happening every few months. Each department has their own fest, giving students a lot of exposure and opportunity to handle positions of responsibility.
Dislikes
The academic curriculum can be a bit taxing, because it is very extensive and rigorous.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum is holistic and the college keeps updating it to match with the current job requirements. Along with theory, they also teach you how to apply it outside of college. The curriculum of Xavier's is more advanced as compared to other colleges in Mumbai.
Multiple student led fests and events throughout the year
Exposure given from practical real life assignments
Compulsory social work done by the students
Dislikes
Lack of air conditioning throughout campus
Placement Experience:
Campus placements are extremely good with top companies coming in with high packages, ranging from 6lpa to 24lpa, although everyone does not recieve a guaranteed placement, if your gpa and interview is good enough you can walk out with jobs in prestigious companies
The campus has many student run clubs and societies which one can be part of there are groups like social service league, world performing arts, fincell etc. where one can be part of it and learn and express ones intrest
The college has many events happening hence the college life never feels dull as we can be part of the event and engage by ether participating or being in the organising side
The faculty are easy to approach and they help with everything including placement and how cv should be made and even intrested to go for further studies they help in identifying our strengths and weakness and help to work on them
Dislikes
The college has mandatory ecc points where one has to participate in a lot of events and each events gives 5 to 10 points each and we have to get a quota of 60min other wise passing certificate wouldn't be given
It has mandatory attendance of 75% and social service hours of 120 which is not a lot coupled with college work it gets tiring and too hard to keep up with the work and can get exhausting for students
The canteen is nice but not hygienic and every food that they serve taste the same there is no differentiators between the food and the message remains very crowded during the break timings
Placement Experience:
There is a placement cell in the college which looks after student internship and placements students can apply for internships from the 2nd year of their course onwards as for placemts they can apply in their last year, but to apply for placement students have to pay a fee of 1500rs to be added in the group for placement from where they can apply, almost 60 % of students are placed from the college getting average lpa around 600000 and many companies such as Bane, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley,Zomato etc come for placement and as well as internship many of my friends have recived and PPO as well after doing their Internship In their 2nd year as welli personally plan to go for further studies abroad after college to gain more experience and explore career as I still have to decided on what I want to do so the best cou8would be for me to go explore and get a wider perceptive
I chose BMS course because it is a proffessional course. You get to learn many skills required in a proffessional ground like soft skills and presentation skills. There are two divisions in this course each with sixty students. We have one proffessor for each subject. The faculty is excellent and teaches in an outstanding manner with full interaction with students. The teaching method is practical that is first by explaing the concept and then giving us the case study to solve. The exams are every month honestly. This college constantly pushes you to study. And the exams are tough. You have to keep up with your studies to get throught the exams. Even in the online mode it is not easy to pass the exam without studying. So in a nutshell the exams are not difficult to pass, its jist you have to study hard to pass the exams and score good as well.
St. Xavier's College of Kolkata have always been in the top colleges of the state. It has offered management course from UG level. 10+2 result with 50% marks is necessary for getting admisson. BBA students seek merit based application through the entrance exam score of this college.
Good Placements are there for St. Xavier students. INR 30 LPA was the highest CTC offer in 2021 campus recruitment. Federal Bank, Cognizant, IBM, UBS, L&T, Infosys, Wipro, DeloitteOdessa Technologies, Zomato etc are popular recruiters.
It is one of the most renowned colleges not only in India but around the world. It has a beautiful architecture and the history associated with the college is immense. Also the placements from the college are one of the best in the country.
The reputation and quality of education, the excellent teachers and faculty and diversity and wide exposure. The experience at various fests and the great heritage of the institution which is more than 150 years old.
Best college for BA and BMS/BMM, proximity to living quarters, best part of college is we have 15 fests in 1 year, awesome crowd, awesome faculty and best placements. The course supplements to MBA and is very practical oriented at Xavier's.
It has a strong alumni, good practical exposure and placement cell is actively working in grabbing best opportunities from top companies such as Hindustan Unilever. I opted for this course because of my interests in management studies.
