JHC Mumbai FAQs
Ques. How does Jai Hind College’s location in Mumbai actually benefit students?
Ans. Being located at Churchgate, Jai Hind provides access to everything, it's literally walking distance across the board for internships in media houses, finance firms, and NGOs. Even location-wise to cultural hubs like NCPA, Marine Drive, and art galleries nearby means exposure isn't limited to academia, the city becomes an extension of the classroom for us.
Ques. What makes the campus life at Jai Hind different from other Mumbai colleges?
Ans. There is a huge buzz at Jai Hind with events run by students, like Detour (BMM fest) and Entourage (BMS fest). We as students manage our own events on (marketing) sponsorships, PR and logistics etc. It literally feels like managing a startup. This is not something that every college allows you to experience at that scale.
Ques. Do students at Jai Hind feel the teaching style is more traditional or modern?
Ans. Most faculty are not stuffy or old-fashioned at JHC Mumbai. In programs like BMM and BMS, faculty focus on assignments that measure presentations, projects and case studies, rather than rote learning. Even in the more theory based subjects faculty relate back to real-life examples in Mumbai, which engage us more in both classes and learning.
Ques. How strong is the peer culture at Jai Hind competitive or collaborative?
Ans. At JHC it’s probably a mix, but in a good way. Since many of the students here are from various regions of India, you get a diverse motivated group as a peer group. While competition exists around placements and fests, on a day-to-day basis it feels more collaborative—people share notes, help each other with project work, and work together in clubs. That balance is a great benefit for all of us.
