I’m doing my Bachelor of Arts [BA] in Psychology at Jai Hind College, and I have to say, the faculty here is top-notch! They are very experienced and make the classes engaging. The course is well-structured, and while we don’t have many internship opportunities, the learning experience is solid. The campus is lively, and there are various clubs and activities to join, which keeps things interesting. The fees are quite manageable too, making it a great choice for students like me.
I've been at Jai Hind College for nearly three years, wrapping up my final year, and honestly, it's hyped up just like many other colleges. I expected the teachers to spark my interest in my subjects even more by going beyond textbooks and helping me dive deeper into research. Unfortunately, I found it lacking in that department. It's more of a university issue than just Jai Hind, but I've heard from friends at Sophia's and Mithibai that they have engaging classes and actually learn something new.
That said, Jai Hind does have a lively campus and the canteen is fantastic! Other than that, I wasn't too impressed.
I chose the Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] in Information Technology at Jai Hind College because I’ve always been interested in tech. The curriculum is pretty up-to-date, covering all the latest trends, but some faculty members need to catch up with new technologies. The internship opportunities could be better, but I did manage to land one on my own, which was a good experience. The campus life is vibrant, with lots of events and a well-stocked library. Overall, I think it’s a good college for IT students, especially given its reputation.
Jai Hind College is a great place for pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] in Accounting and Finance. The faculty is really helpful, and they make the subjects easy to understand. The exams are conducted in a structured manner, and you can clear them without too much stress.
The college also has a good placement cell; every year, big companies come for recruitment, and many students get placed, which is reassuring. The annual festival, SHOUTT, is a blast and adds a lot of fun to our college life. Overall, I feel like I made the right choice with this college.
Thanks for asking! I'm probably a good person to answer this since I graduated just last year. Anyone who went to Jai Hind College would likely agree that it's a fantastic place. The students and teachers are really welcoming, more so than most other colleges around. Jai Hind is always leading, whether in academics or festivals. Four years ago, I moved from a small town in Assam to Mumbai and joined Jai Hind College right away. The affection and support I received here are beyond words. I made lifelong friends and unforgettable memories that are still fresh in my mind even a year after graduating. Jai Hind holds a special place in our hearts.
During my time at the college, I had tons of chances to grow, hone my leadership skills, and improve my time management. Not to brag, but I was one of the top students and led several committees. Even while studying for my CA exams, I was a Class Representative and a part of the Student Council. I even won the Student of the Year Award at our graduation ceremony. These achievements are something I’ll cherish forever. I was also selected for multiple scholarships by our former Vice Principal, Lalitha Ganeshan Madam, who is truly wonderful, and we still keep in touch.
The canteen food is incredible. Seriously, whenever I'm in Churchgate, I swing by just to eat there. The campus has a new building that opened two years ago. It looks like a 5-star hotel, especially the restrooms. Plus, it's super close to Marine Drive, which is awesome!
For placements, companies like Taj and Google visit the campus. We have a really active placement cell run by energetic faculty, making it easy to land internships. As a commerce student, I can tell you that the Big 4 accounting firms—KPMG, Deloitte, EY, and PwC—come for internships every year.
I hope my experience at Jai Hind College encourages you to consider joining and creating your own amazing journey there!
