Course Curriculum Overview

4

The nep curriculumn is follwed and i honestly love it , the curriculumn is easy but challenging ,its fun to go around and we do a lot of practical application Since we do a lot of practical work i woukd say it does pretty well with the preperation , We have a language lab in the college and SIP along with a additional subject everyyear which teaches a lot The frequency is just perfect where it doesnt over burden us , we have 2 cias and one end sem the difficulty would be a 7-8 out of 10

Internships Opportunities

3

I dont know much about internships but there is a coonfirmed internship that the 3rd year students do in bcom also our proffesors are always having sessions on resume building and career katta workshops to get us internships

Fees and Financial Aid

So the fees for my course is 15000 rs , and i am in the bcom public course that comes under nep , this is for one year of college meaning 2 semesters , the students in autonomous the fees ranges from 50k-1l per anum

Campus Life

4

St Xaviers leads the charts when it comes to campus life and club involvement i myself am a part of the deb soc and the student support group and we have new events for students to attend everyday We have an extra curricular credit system which allows students to attend new programs and indulge in activities For technology we have the ecell and the econundrum We have ssl etc

Admission

I applied to , DU , christ university , symbiosis , nmims , st xaviers , podar college of commerce and lucknow university , iim indore , iim rohtak i got in all the colleges except for the iims The iims the paper was very difficult especially because i dont have a maths background so i didnt make the cutoff My college takes admission with a interview and 12th class board percentage

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio for my course is pretty bad as I have one proffesor who is a phd english proffesor taking classes for bcom students and he takes around 5-6 lectures if all combined the other proffesors are fine but i dont find the classes interesting The best facilities are the famous quad and the woods where we do a lot of activities There are exams for all classes so for me around 7 exams total, they are at a higher difficulty if rated Alot of studentd fail to clear the exams because of the blend of low economy and high economy students and also attendence

Night Life

5

We have the famous fell gymkhana that is inside the campus along with the quad and a badminton court , xaviers also books out a lawn for football practices I dont take hostel i take pg , theres only boys hostel available Xaviers is near the csmt and churhgate station marine drive is a small walk away , theres uk a juice corner , metro inox a movie theatre is right across the road

Placement Experience:

Placements at Mulund College of Commerce are fairly good especially after the college received autonomous status. Some of the well known companies like Deloitte, KPMG etc visited. The average package is around approx. 3,00,000 per annum. In my case I'm currently pursuing CA along with my B.com degree so my focus is more on completing my CA course and gaining practical training rather than the immediate placement. The college provides a good support for students like me through flexible schedules, guidance and internship exposure. Overall, MCC prepares students well for both employment and professional qualifications helping us build a strong foundation for future career growth.

I am the part of NSS unit .. there I am genuinely learning and enjoying.. But I have figured out that for leo and Rotract they won't give credits to fy degree college students so I feel they should include first-year UGs as well. They are not giving opportunities to junior college students so I feel they junior college students should also have access to be part of different clubs and curriculums

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.com is base of all the course in commerce. And we also can do any other jobs to increase our experience in practical world because in other courses we are not able to get practical experience which is very important. The curriculum is too good as everything is about real world. There is no need to study something which is irrelevant. Everything is good but, I want that as our college opens early at 7am so library should also be open at the same time. Because many times when lectures are cancelled we just waste our time as library opens at 9am.

No issue for attendace thats what influenced me to join for bcom. not even bcom for every degree you dont need attendance just keep track of assignments. curriculum is useless no mistake of college its the syllabus of mumbai university. Teachers can be more sophisticated. 2 exams in a year are conducted and are very easy to pass out for a normal student.

Remarks:

I was a student of KJ Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce. College is autonomus now and the exams paper are set by college & not university. Faculty is good. Campus is excellent. Once you leave the college, you will miss everything from lectures, 4 ways, maggi house, management canteen, IV etc. Management students do have placements in good companies. (BMS, BBI, BFM, BAF) So, in short it is a good college with decent students & faculty.
