Dislikes
- Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs. ~ Akaash R, B.Tech

Course Curriculum Overview:
My course is civil engineering and our faculty is outstanding. Our faculty members are very experienced.They always give us the updated notes in our academics every year after making research. Professors design notes very well.

- Campus atmosphere, cultural activities, communication skills, good friends, vacation around the campus, long weekeneds, etc
- also we can play games whatever we want for relaxation. Also there is a swimming pool for beginners or pros. They will teach us in learning swimming with cost applicable.
- Also we can do LTAP courses means leisure time courses like guitar learning, piano, karatee, musical instruments which cost relible.
Dislikes
- Sometimes wardens will be too strict in hostels
- In mess, caterers also some strict.. that I won't like.
Placement Experience:
During 3rd year, placements are going to be happen. We can register for placement portal, the companiy profiles were appeared. We can apply to companies, and processing. So many offers were come from many companies which are stipened. Averag epackage is 25 lakhs, minimum and maximum packages are 5 lakhs and 1 crore. Moat of the students get placed in different companies. Nearly 75% students get placed. I they were not placed, they will be recommended by seniors from our college who are finished and placed before us. And some people were not sitting for placements as they are interested in public sector examinations like UPSC, groups 1, 2, etc. also some students start their start up ideas. I want to take placement first. Then I want to continue for 2 to 3 years then I want to write for govt jobs like IES and all in core side. Also I want to try for group 2 exams.

- To able to go offline mode exam in multiple times in a term
- The contents of the videos in so lengthy and not understanding.
- The academic also try to get all students tohigher placement in upcomming days
Placement Experience:
Placement is average for bs data science students.. the program was started very earlier so the placement is not far better but it can be increasing in upcomming days.. and enetranship was able to all students .

Students can become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Many companies visited IIT Madras and there were over 1500 offers last year. Highest package was around 2.4 Cr last time. There would be like 90-95% students get placed each year.

Placement Experience:
Placements happens during the vacation after the 7th sem each year. There are more than 100 companies visited each year for placement. The highest offer in Naval architecture for last year was 50LPA and average was 18LPA

- Regular Live Classes scheduled every alternate day.
- Annual Fest Saarang and regular hackathons and events like paradox makes college life interesting.
- Concept of remedial classes before End term Exams and quizzes takes place.
Dislikes
- Recorded lectures are way too boring. Much improvement needed.
- Notes are not very much sufficient as per course difficulty.
- Lot of distractions because course is in online mode
Placement Experience:
From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements by paying a nominal fee of Rs 1900. Big MNCs like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple hire students. Highest package last year offered was 1.2 Crores. Approx 172 offers were made with the highest package of 1.2 cr and average package to 17 Lakhs. 91% students get placed, approx 6-7% chose for higher studies. I will go for higher studies (MBA) through IIM.

- There are many monkeys and snakes in the campus.
- We don't get water all over campus..some water stalls should be put
- Second year and third year hostels are not so good

From third year we are eligible for campus placements. And companies top most companies visit for campus selections. Highest package is 2 crore per annum..2400000 per annum is average income..100 percentage placements I wanted to get a job in government sector

Placement Experience:
I am not pretty sure about the campus placements as I know very little about it. Students of final year and mtech are eligible for it. Many companies like Amazon, Google, Facebook etc... . Majority of students get placements but differ in packages. My plan is to get a good package.

- Infrastructure are amazing, healthy social groups and friends
- Faculties are marvellous and placement are quite impressive.

- Too much raining in the campus and very far away from my home

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.
The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.
Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.

The online Data Science program at IIT Madras is a great opportunity for someone who can not attend regular college because of financial constraints, illness, or other reasons. The online BS in Data Science and Application allows students to gain knowledge of this field from one of the most reputed engineering colleges in India.
