New Delhi, November 2025: The National Testing Agency has opened the JEE Main 2026 form fill-up window on the official website of JEE Mains, starting the next cycle of India’s largest engineering entrance test. The registration portal has been live since 31 October 2025, and the application window is open until 27 November 2025. You can register online from the link below. Hurry up since only a few days are remaining.

Based on last year’s turnout, when nearly 15 lakh students registered, experts expect that for 2026, the number of students applying for the JEE entrance exam form to reach 14–15 lakh for Session 1 alone and possibly 18–20 lakh overall across both sessions.

With new rules on exam city allocation, document verification, and a strict no-calculator policy, students are being advised to complete their JEE registration early and carefully to avoid last-minute issues.

Key Updates & Alerts for Aspirants

The JEE Mains 2026 registration cycle comes with several important changes that every applicant must keep in mind. These updates affect exam-day rules, document verification, exam city allotment, and the correction timeline. Candidates are advised to review these alerts before submitting their JEE Mains application.

  1. No Calculators Allowed: NTA has clarified that both physical and on-screen calculators are strictly prohibited during JEE Main 2026. This update comes after confusion caused by a typographical error in earlier information.

  1. Document Verification Critical: Applicants must ensure their Aadhaar, UDID and category certificate details (if any) are up to date before submission. Inaccuracies in these could lead to rejection.
  2. Aadhaar-based Exam City Allotment: Reports indicate NTA will assign exam cities based on the address linked to the candidate’s Aadhaar card, which has raised concern and interest among students.
  3. Expanded Exam Centres: To accommodate more aspirants and ease logistics, the number of exam cities has been increased for 2026.
  4. Correction Window Coming Soon: According to earlier process updates, a correction facility is expected around 30 November to 1 December 2025, allowing candidates to fix minor mistakes in their submitted forms.

What Should Students Do Right Now

With the JEE Mains 2026 registration window already open, students need to act quickly and follow a structured approach to avoid errors. The next few days are crucial for gathering documents, updating personal details, and completing the application without a last-minute rush.

  • Check all personal details on Aadhaar: Before submitting the JEE form, ensure your name, date of birth, address, and spelling match the details you will enter in the form.
  • Keep all certificates updated and scanned: Category certificates, PwD/UDID documents, and photographs must be recent and in the correct format prescribed by NTA.
  • Read the information bulletin once: Before applying, go through the NTA guidelines to avoid common mistakes in personal, academic, or communication details.
  • Prepare a payment method in advance: Keep your UPI, net banking, or card active to avoid payment failures during peak hours.
  • Choose exam cities wisely: Since exam city allotment may be linked to Aadhaar address, select nearby and accessible centres to reduce travel issues.
  • Submit the form before traffic peaks: The portal experiences heavy load near the deadline, so completing the process early is advisable.
  • Save a soft and hard copy of the confirmation page: This is needed later for admit card download, city slip verification, and form corrections.
