General JEE Main 2026 dress code for females

To make the entry smooth and easy to the examination hall, follow these rules by NTA:

  • Easy Clothing: Try to wear light, simple clothes like a T-shirt and jeans or a kurta with leggings. Avoid clothes with large buttons, embroidery, or many pockets.
  • Hair etiquette: You are expected to tie your hair (any other material except metal) with normal rubber bands (no hairpins) or keep the hairstyle as simple as you can.
  • Jewellery: Avoid wearing any type of jewellery, like earrings, rings, bangles, and necklaces, is strictly prohibited.
  • Footwear: Don't use high-thickness shoes. Simple sandals or slippers are recommended.
  • Accessories: Refrain from bringing belts, scarves, stoles, and watches.

Note: - Muslim female candidates are allowed to wear Hijab, and they have to come 1 hour before reporting for proper specialised frisking.
