I chose this college because of the exposure I get in this college is way too much and next level . I don't think any other college can give this much exposure . I have cute ipmat jipmat these entrance exams and I also got shortlisted for iim ranchi but I didn't go because XAVIER'S IS A BRAND and it holds a prestige because of its discipline . For bcom Xavier's considers the marks of class 12th boards , the cutoffs of which are very high . First list cutoff goes 93%ish and last list goes 88ish . The cutoffs are less for reserved categories.

- The friendly environment that it provides for the different kind of students coming from different backgrounds, religion and ethnicity is beyond appreciable.
- The student teacher interaction beyond the 4 walls of the classroom grasped my attention since the day one. The teachers are welcoming when it comes to asking questions, friendly and approachable.

- The attendance criteria is a bit too stringent where a student gets debarred for having attendance below 60% and below 75% one needs to pay condonation(money) to be allowed for the examinations.
Admission:
As a resident of Kolkata i applied to literally every well-known college in existence in Kolkata. Starting from Presidency to jadavpur to Lady Prabourne to Gokhale to Loreto to St Xavier's and all the others which i coulnd't get to name. The colleges i got into were Jadavpur, Shri Shiksayatan, LBC, Asutosh, Scottish Church, St. Paul's Cathedral and finally Xavier's(my dream institute). The difference was in all of the rest colleges i got into BSc economics whereas SXC was the only college to offer me a seat in BSc Statistics Honors. The cut off was 96% for my year for ISC students(year 2022) and i scored 95% hence lost hope but my name came in the extended 2nd list of candidates being summoned for admission. Admission process was pretty simple just had to visit the college and pay the initial joining amount in the office and started attending classes from the next day after having met the HOD(Ma'am Durba Bhattacharya) that day. Admission is solely on the basis of marks obtained.

St. Xavier's has always been a part of my life as i had studied in St. Xavier's School from class 1 till class 12 and thus i wanted to also complete my bachelor's from St. Xavier's itself. So basically it was my love for the name of Xavier's.

I had applied for St Xavier college Kolkata, St Xavier University, Scottish Church College and Goenka College I opted this college because I was student of St Xavier Collegiate school and hence studying in yhe same campus I had this dream of joining this college and become a part of it No I didn't get a rejection from other college my name came out in the list for admission The eligibility criteria for a General student is Commerce eith maths and a percentage of 90% and for Christian students it is 58%

I primarily chose this college for being my families Alma Mater, the college is highly prestigious and catered successful personality in various fields. The success of the college made me want to do both my undergraduate and postgraduate from the same institution. The most important part of the college is it's faculty, with excellent faculty.

I applied to 3 other colleges. 1.Delhi University- was alloted Gargi college but didn't go as I already got admitted to Xavier's college before. 2. Madras Christian College- got admitted for History Hons. but didn't go as i don't know much about the college. 3. Jamia Milia Islamia- I wasn't able to pass the entrance test as the cutoff was too high. I got admitted in Xavier's through merit basis.

I also got SBSC in DU but I chose this because of the exposure I will get in this college because its the best college in Kolkata and one of the best colleges of India. I am also pleased about the working of different socities in college and placements reports. No, I didt get any rejection from DU . Admission in our college is based on 12th marks with a cutoff of 90% for B.com Hons .
