ST Xavier's Kolkata Scholarships: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 599 Reviews

St. Xavier's College offers a range of scholarships based on merit and financial need, primarily for poor and meritorious students. Scholarships are often contingent on academic performance, such as achieving a high rank in exams or maintaining a high attendance rate. The college also provides financial aid for students from economically weaker sections, with concessions available for students whose family income is below a certain threshold. Additionally, there are various government scholarships like the INSPIRE scholarship and scholarships in collaboration with external organizations.

Loan facilities are not directly provided by the college, but students can avail of bank loans facilitated through partnerships with banks like the Bank of Baroda, which has a branch inside the college. The application process for scholarships can be complex, requiring documentation such as parental financial details and verification from college authorities. The fee structure varies significantly between different courses and sections, with government subsidies available for some programs, such as the B.Com morning batch.

There is a nominal increase in fees annually, and the college provides opportunities for internships and placements that help support students financially.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Fees at SXC Kolkata for Computer Science is the highest. The fees is 1,60,000 a year and since it's a four years course the total fees is around 6.5 lakhs. So with a course fees of 6.5 lakhs we get one of the best arcularing college and the one that provide good placements too. Scholarships are linked with merit and caste students as the ones like me who are in general category and doesn't have top merit don't get any scholarship.

Fees and Financial Aid:

B.Com (Hons) girls only have the evening option and fees is also higher than the morning one. The morning students have to pay 100k while evening students have to pay 120k yearly for studying B.Com (Hons). Central schemes for scholarship as reserved category students are supported both by central and government college schemes. They get around 50% scholarship as what we pay per semester SC/ST pay that for a year.

Fees and Financial Aid:

At SXC Kolkata, since it's an autonomous college, the fees is higher than most colleges. For B.Com (Hons), the fees is 100000 a year and Calcuta University examination fees is also around 2500 per year. Scholarships like Nabanna Scholarship and A.K.Aggarwal Scholarship which is awarded purely on the basis of merit are available at our college.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees per semester needs to be paid in 2 installments. The first installment of first semester is to be paid at the time of admission and is about 66800 rupees and the second installment is 35100 rupees. Every month exceeding the last date of fee payment induces a 300 rupee fine. This payment includes everything like admission, library, exams, etc. Certain scolarships are also available. There will probably not be a significant increment of fees in recent years.

Fees and Financial Aid:

For my course, i am having to pay ?35,000 every 3 months which means i am having to pay ?1,40,000 every year. I am from the general category. I am unfortunately unaware about the fees that my classmates from other categories pay. The course offers me air conditioned classrooms, a fool-proof sound system, a screen to help show movies and labs with cameras, editing tools and sound systems so i would say it is worth it.
