Course Curriculum Overview

5

B.Com (Hons) as it's the best option for students who wants to pursue CA along side. As CA gives detailed accountancy knowledge and B.Com all the financial knowledge as well. So our course works in tandem and hence I am quite satisfied with my course and college timings too.

Internships Opportunities

5

FactR, MG Global and Sales and some other came through college for intenrships rounds. So it was tough to get through but lucky to counter one and that too at a stipend of 14000 which was more than what I expected.

Placement Experience

5

Placements wise there's no partiality as both the colleges have combined placements round. Around 400+ B.Com students sit together for placements and around 250 of them were placed in 2024-2025 batch.

Fees and Financial Aid

SXC Kolkata fees is little steep as for our college B.Com (Hons) the fees is 1 lakhs a year. I am in evening college of SXC but fees is same for both morning and evening as the only difference is students pursuing CA mostly opt for evening college.

Campus Life

5

Facilities at our college are quite good as it's an old college or one or the oldest but facilities now are upgraded and we have best auditorium, library and labs. Even canteens are good and our canteen Etcetra serves all the junk food we love.

Hostel Facilities

5

College don't have hostel so I have to rent a PG nearby and that is where I live. College documents at required as otherwise they don't give hostels to the students. Food and all is quite good and is very affordable as well.

Admission

I applied at SXC bit I wanted morning college. Unfortunately cut-off for was morning was 94 and i had 90. So, luckily the college works in 2 shifts and hence I got admission in th evening one. So eligibility for general category for evening college is minimum of 87%.

Faculty

5

For evening college faculties are more because batch size is more and also it becomes people who are working privately to come and teach here. So, our faculties are corporate people who knows industry demands and structure. So they teach us accordingly.

Interview Experience

5

Yes and interview round is there however cut-offs are enough but just to check we know the branch we are selecting the interview is held. Normal and very basic accounting questions were asked during my interview.

Night Life

5

Our college don't have hostels so morning students have to leave the college by 2 pm and evening college students have to leave by 8.30 pm as that's the ending time. Nearby then we have a lot of clubs and cafes and Tantra is one of the best night clubs of Kolkata is nearby our college.

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is average , I chose this course because I wanted to do an honours degree and I'm from commerce background so my first pick was B.Com . They really put efforts to prepare students for well future , as I said earlier some teachers are genuinely very good helpful supporting and good at what they do . Something they need to approve is the 70% attendance criteria, I think they need to understand not every student is just persuing graduation they are doing some other courses or jobs etc so they can't maintain 70% attendance . The frequency of timing is average

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum is Comprehensive, focused equally on Academics and Practical Exposure.. I chose because of that extra year of research I can choose to do in my final year (4th year) of graduation and I'll have an Hons. Degree at the end of 4th year of my college... Practical insights makes sure we are being trained to tackle practical world and academic knowledge ensures we are eligible to apply for further Education.. I will say more focus on Practical Exposure and a little extra focus on Sports May Take This Curriculum to a different level..

• The specific aspects of the curriculum are the subjects including in this course are related to the industry that will help students to build their career in this competitive world and I choose the course as I wanted to pursue a professional course after graduation. • The curriculum prepares us pretty well for real world applications as there are subjects like management that helps students to understand things very clearly and apply it in the real world. • The frequency and timing of exams is perfect and my perspective on the difficulty level is that the exams are not at all difficult.
