Course Curriculum Overview

5

For those who want to learn all traits of trade and accountancy, Calcutta University course is the one for them. I don't think masters is even required if one pursue B.Com (Hons) from Calcutta University. Overall CA passing percentage is 2-3% but at SXC let's say if 10 students are pursuing CA, 6-7 will definitely clear it.

Internships Opportunities

5

We have been asked to edit our CVs and add skills that we have and which we learn during the college hours. As based on that our intenrships and placements cell provide us intenrships in the domain we want. Most of us are itno finance and therefore it's the Fintech or financial institutions where we get internships through college.

Placement Experience

5

Companies of all domains like the Asian Paints, EY, Nestle and HDFC Bank among all of them come to SXC. Biggest placements so far has been of 20 lakhs or so when one of the student was placedat such a package in 2024.

Fees and Financial Aid

At SXC Kolkata, since it's an autonomous college, the fees is higher than most colleges. For B.Com (Hons), the fees is 100000 a year and Calcuta University examination fees is also around 2500 per year. Scholarships like Nabanna Scholarship and A.K.Aggarwal Scholarship which is awarded purely on the basis of merit are available at our college.

Campus Life

5

XAVOTSAV is our annual fest and then we have seminars and business meetings. Also, once in every year we are taken for an industrial tour too. So campus life therefore is quite busy and happening both. Infrastructure of the college is like an old British monument as most of those architecture is still preserved and is visible too.

Admission

There are no entrances like the Delhi University which I gave as well. Here admission are based on 12th percentage and the subjects that we have had. So, for general category in 2025 admission 92.7% from any board was the cut-off. For OBC it was 81 and for SC/ST students it was 73%.

Faculty

5

Saint Xavier's Kolkata has both permanent and non permanent faculties. Also we have guest lectures every month from top faculties. So, there's not exact count but there are more than sufficient faculties as our college is known for imparting fair education. This has been possible only because of the kind hearted faculties that we have.

Night Life

5

Our college ends early as it starts early. So, in college we can't stay for long but for outing there's many places. From malls to garden like Victoria and for watching matches, Eden Gardens is also nearby our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is average , I chose this course because I wanted to do an honours degree and I'm from commerce background so my first pick was B.Com . They really put efforts to prepare students for well future , as I said earlier some teachers are genuinely very good helpful supporting and good at what they do . Something they need to approve is the 70% attendance criteria, I think they need to understand not every student is just persuing graduation they are doing some other courses or jobs etc so they can't maintain 70% attendance . The frequency of timing is average

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum is Comprehensive, focused equally on Academics and Practical Exposure.. I chose because of that extra year of research I can choose to do in my final year (4th year) of graduation and I'll have an Hons. Degree at the end of 4th year of my college... Practical insights makes sure we are being trained to tackle practical world and academic knowledge ensures we are eligible to apply for further Education.. I will say more focus on Practical Exposure and a little extra focus on Sports May Take This Curriculum to a different level..
