Likes
- College has enough security as everyone inside the campus can feel as secured as they want to.
- College auditorium is the best part of our whole infrastructure as it has been upgraded and it's now of highest standards.
- Students quality is amazing as most of them are the ones who have scored over 90% so one can imagine the kind of intellectualness they must be having.
Dislikes
- Dress code is mandatory and without that entry is denied.
- Since I am in the morning college of SXC our classes starts as early as 6 am daily.
Course Curriculum Overview
Areas of improvement would be that class timings should be little late. Everyday 6 am classes for four straight years won't be possible as many students might just give up. Course wise though it's one of the best as Calcutta University's syllabus can't miss anything which has to be there.
Internships Opportunities
IT or the finance companies where junior accountant roles are available is where we get intenrships opportunities at. College has a policy that certificate and stipend amount offering companies are the only one invited at our campus.
Placement Experience
At our college placements are good and many core companies or finance and IT are here for placements and intenrships as well. Average placements from what I have checked is around 4-5 lakhs per year for B.Com (Hons) students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is slightly higher as it's a private college but have its affiliation with Calcutta University. So government aid and scholarships for the EWS students or SC/ST students are available as directed by state government.
Campus Life
Every building of the campus tells a different story of its own. It's a big and beautiful campus with 6 buildings and one auditorium and library each. We have few events as seminars and guest lectures but main is our cultural fest Xavotsav.
Admission
My everything was for SXC as I knew the cut-off will be in range of early 90s. This year the cut-off for morning college was 92%. If one has to pursue B.Com (Hons), he should have had English and Maths as his/her electives as otherwise admission are not allowed for B.Com (Hons).
Faculty
Our college has everything of highest order and among them the highest is our faculties. All of them are superlative and their teaching amazes me to the highest. The way they approach the subjects and what all needs to be taken care of while preparing for exams, they teach us all.
Night Life
Our college is up for us till 2 pm and we mostly chill at our canteen Etcetra. Otherwise we have many places like during IPL, Eden Gardens which is nearby become our night life centre. For evening strolls, Victoria Memorial is our hangout centre.
