Course Curriculum Overview

4

I had keen interest in this course and this college has a brand value. So, I opted for this course here in this college. Faculty student ratio is approx 1:50 The Faculty should have completed B.Ed and if he or she is an ex student of this college, then they are given a marginal advantage.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The companies which came with internship opportunities are GFee Work, Lacozy enterprise, Edukcon etc. Various roles were offered like accountant , finance analyst, marketing head etc No such specific project which I can remember.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for campus placements in the 5th semester. However the placement is done after completing graduation Various companies like Google, Deloitte etc have visited and offers are made to approx within 50 students. Highest package went to 22 lakhs(approx) by an investment banking company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is different for different years In the first year, it was around 50000. In the second year, it was around 70000. In the third year, it is approx 70000. I didn't receive any scholarship or job in the campus.

Campus Life

3

The annual fest is named as Xavotsav. It is conducted in January end or February starting every year. There are a lot of books and journals in the library. Classroom has a projector and black/ white board. Almost every room has air conditioning. Every type of sports is played in the campus

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The room has a space for 4 people with bedding for each individual and a wooden rack Meal is of good quality but it is a bit expensive. The hostel where I stay is Poddar Chhatra Niwas,Kolkata and is known everywhere as admission is based of merit.

Admission

The course is eligible for those who have cleared their class 12th boards intermediate examinations with 90+ percentage. However, the cut offs are different for different boards and changes every year. You can find every details on the college website- www.sxccal.edu. Admission process should be done on the basis of entrance test.

Placement Experience:

I'm not sure but I think from 3rd year we will be eligible for placements. There are many finance companies, banks like HDFC, SBI, Canara,etc... & companies like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Deloitte, PWC,etc.... The highest package last year was like 9.64 LPA & in the year before it was 10 LPA while the average is around 2-2.5 LPA. Around 20% of the total strength gets placement. Even only few % of the total strength applies for the placements. My plan is to take a placement if I can or if not then off campusing and then gather work experience & do MBA later which will give me very benifits.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

As I am from Commerce background so I need to make my career on this way so I choose this course . The faculty and student receive is not good the students and the faculty ratio is 10 : 5 The faculties are educated from various university and institutes they know everything but they are unable to delivered them to us as because they are some aggressive attitude. In every six months there is a semester and it is very difficult to pass if you don't study anything from the first.
